Rewards aren’t a service. They’re coupons which give free stuff based on how many we’ve amassed.
I mean… a website like youtube is a platform on which people post videos (& make make money from them), MS rewards meanwhile are gifts from MS for using their browser or engaging with their Xbox quests.
It’s not the same thing. If MS does away with rewards entirely, what would be left? Nothing different than what Sony & Nintendo do, aka nothing. People would just pay the full price for whatever real services MS offers & that would be the end of it.
Make no mistake I really like the rewards system, but I’m not about to bite the hand which generously gives us this stuff. It would be asinine.
I get what you’re trying to say. I’m just never going to be on the side of essentially telling people to shut up and be grateful.
If the incentives to use said browser or product actively get worse then critiquing it is fair game to me. Being an ass about it and screeching that you’re going to sell your Xbox because of this is corny behaviour. Just be respectful about it is my whole thing.
Both Sony and Nintendo have rewards programs. I believe Sony’s one is similar to MS rewards, but Nintendo one is a more streamlined one where you get cashback for purchases. I don’t think MS will sunlight the program, but I understand people upset about the program getting degraded. Plus, it doesn’t help there is poor communication for MS rewards. I find the subreddit to be very extreme though. I feel like a lot of stuff with reddit it’s just console warrior trolls saying stuff. There is no way a reward program is something that will make you leave microsoft for sony
The 15 minutes cooldown is ridiculous, even though I organically do 30+ legitimate searches when browsing the web, I can’t get the 90 points anymore. I’ve been topping off at around 60 the last few days.
Since the month started, my daily achievements haven’t been counting except for one day. Has this happened to anyone else?
I’m not too concerned because they’re not worth 50 pts anymore but rather 5, but my monthly quest is 22 daily tasks are at risk because it hasn’t counted the 10 or so achievement tasks completed thus far.
For me, I can only get points to register now if I type bing.com and search from there, the hyperlink from the rewards landing page doesn’t really work anymore. And the first three searches or so NEVER seem to work either and then you get a bunch of points added at once.
Yeah, the delay for registering any of the first 3 or 4 searches is a bit odd. Sometimes it’s added on search 5 but sometimes its delayed further. I noticed that before any of the cooldowns (every 6-7 seconds or the 3 per 15 minutes) they put in place.
Btw, this is not live in Brazil yet, but Rewards Hunter put out a new guide of a new daily activity that give between 15/30 points per day. pretty easy stuff.
I noticed that clicking on the pre-typed news Bing searches on mobile is quite a bit quicker than getting your own searches to register. When you click on the search bar, they appear below and are enumerated (on my iPhone).
Seems like another nerf because they removed the 250pts quest, but they’ve added one called quest completionist which will be a bigger grind . Honestly, not the worst thing because some of the quests were tedious and it was a headache to wait for cloud servers to be freed up
I believe it was quest dedication which gives you 500pts. Quest completionist is a new one . Maybe its different per region, but here in Canada we’ve never had that one
Its not a nerf, its making it easier and simplier to complete. No longer need to do multiple weekly 250s to get that 1000 points. Doing 1 achievement in a gamepass game each day will easily give you 60 Daily Quests (1 for playing gamepass game and 1 for achievement in gamepass game) and the Weeklies needed to get that 1000 Point Monthly.
