Thanks CMA!
did xgpu card redeem just disappear or is just me?
Nope, not just you. All of the Game Pass reward options are gone.
Thus begins the crackdown, I guess. I still see Gold at 20,000 points for 3 months on the browser dashboard (if you’re level 2).
The following is for the US, can’t speak for other regions (I’m a bit sleep-deprived so I don’t vouch for the following):
This works out to 2 months of GPU if you don’t have an active sub at a rate of 334 points per day of GPU.
If you have an active sub, you get 50 days of GPU for your 20k points at a rate of 400 points per day.
I also see 3 months of PC Game Pass for 22,750 points in my console rewards app. That should work out to 2 months of GPU without an active sub but at a worse rate. The active sub conversion table linked above doesn’t have an entry for this so I assume it works the same as Gold.
The auto redemption for one month of 6750 PC Game Pass seems to work out to a better rate than buying the single month of Gold but worse than buying a 3-month code, which appears to be the best value.
If you’re one of the people who does Rewards purely to sustain your active GPU sub, you’ll need to break 400 points a day:
-
The daily searches are 270 and the daily set is about 50, maintaining a Bing streak gets you 15 a day once it’s maxed out (335)
-
Maintaining a maxed weekly streak in the console app adds 36 in addition to the 14 from the individual tasks (50)
That leaves you 15 points shy, which could be made up by various random offers on the Rewards dashboard, in the Rewards app, from doing the daily mobile sign-ins or reading news articles in the Android Start app, daily sign-ins/playing MS Jewel/launching Solitaire on a PC with the Xbox PC/Android app.
To sum up, maintaining an active GPU sub should still be doable in the US if you’re willing to put in a bit of effort. I don’t do this myself, since I prefer to save up for $100 gift cards but it’s good to know (@anon98342452, saw your question in another thread).
crackdown? i don’t think they are removing totally, just temporary then they will bring with new points price.
Thanks, I don’t need it atm but yes that’s what I spend my rewards on - GPU. In Germany, rewards nets maybe 220 pts/day so I do that, random other stuff, Xbox app, GamePass quests to try to earn more. Hoping it’s just temp and GPU comes back
You’re probably right, I was mostly curious to see if it was still sustainable at this rate. Frankly, one of my favorite Xbox exclusives is calculating how to get free* stuff from MS.
Any tips you have for “free stuff” is always welcome in my book. Yes @ me lol
With all the reductions in points and removal of regular punchcards I am just about done with the whole thing.
OK. I’m still earning more than what it takes to get gamepass evey month. I will continue to use this.
BTW this is like free, they are giving us free money basically. Even with some reduction, it is still the best rewards program. It’s still worth it to 99 percent of people using it. You don’t get this with any other program, certainly not with PlayStation or Nintendo.
They removed the Game Pass rewards. So no you aren’t.
Not for me they didn’t. I just check, they are still there. If they remove it? is cause they are adjusting the points to match the new gamepass prices.
It should be back in a couple days.
What country are you in? Because they are 100% gone in the US.
They also got rid of the monthly movie punch card (2500 points) and halved the total for the monthly punch card (down to 1000).
They are adjusting the prices. The Live Gold and PC Gamepass are still there. It’s not a gone forever thing relax lol. You should check the Microsoft Rewards sub reddit.
If any big news with Microsoft Rewards or changes happen they will let people know on there. I see nothing of outrage over this.
Ill spell it out for you. There is a time/value ratio at play here. If you reduce the value of participating in a rewards program to the point that it is no long worth the time required to get a reward, it no longer makes sense to participate. The cost of the reward goes up, the points given go down.
If the reward is halved for the same amount of effort, it ceases to be worth the time.
As to the rest of your inane comment, they have never announced any of the changes they have made to the rewards program. The have slowly and surely reduced all the rewards across the board over the last two years. Game purchase punch cards, sale punch cards, game pass quests have all seen cuts or disappeared entirely with no public comments.
It takes like 10 minutes a day to do everything. The time you spend posting on here, you could have done all youe daily searches and stuff.
They have reduce some points yes, but overally we are still earning more points than ever before. I usually average between 15k-18k a month before… now i average 25k-30k points a month.
They are actually offering more ways to earn points monthly overall.
Even if i just earn 15k a month, it is still totally worth it for me.
If you are not averaging over 20k points a month? And you are from the United States? You are doing it wrong lol.
someone did talked to support, they said a what i was thinking, they removed to put again with new points required to redeem because of xgpu price hike
I’ll pull a number out of you don’t want to know, that the new 3 Months GPU will be 38,000 - 40,000 points on Reward Tier 2 discount. The prior discounted price was 35,000 points.
Bad timing! I’m just a hair over 35k. That’s when I tried to order and realized it was gone
I’ve been there before, way back when they offered 12 Months Gold for super cheap. I was just a few points below and the next day when I made enough was when they removed it entirely. It was never to be listed again, only the 3 months remained.
This time I got really lucky with timings and picked up an extra 3 Month GPU code on Saturday to apply in August.
