We’ve been having “insider” talk about the FTC for the last 4 months or so, from stuff happening in August, to November and now December/January. Kinda hard to believe anything that mentions the FTC
Honestly, I bet Microsoft is secretly delighted that seemingly the main thing the EU is concerned about is frigging CoD remaining on PlayStation.
Dude ‘s account is about to be haunted by the console warriors from both sides on twitter lol.
If i know Phil, he hates fanboyism. This eu regulator is a joke, and I hope MS charges 100+ dollars on COD and gjve a gimped version while Game Pass gets the premium experience.
I’m not sure what that person actually does but how is it ok for someone with proposed authority to admit publicly they have personal interest in the way they regulate a market? Wtf?!
From Other-Era!
Any ideas?
Microsoft commits to “Call of Duty” releases on PS in perpetuity.
Then pivots to the “[…] Warfare” brand to the bewilderment of Jim Ryan.
I have to admit, the choice of words when Phil said “As long as there’s PS around” gave me that sus feeling, like he’s implying “Survive in the new era of gaming.”
Phil can make front facing statements all he likes. He’ll say anything to get the deal done. The further away we get from the deals closure, the more apparent it’ll be that CoD can go exclusive and not be anti competitive.
COD 100% can go exclusive, though Microsoft will keep it multiplat to keep IP growing and decimating the competitors - bigger COD, more difficult other FPS to compete.
I do curious what Tom Warren has implied about what’s gonna happen next week.
My guess could be another declaration to the EC.
Oh thats interesting. I do recall someone on this message board stated as a fact there was 100% a contract for Minecraft to release on Playstation and it was renewed every 3 years.
I’d just take what people say about contracts with a huge grain of salt unless actual proof is given (or the individual has a solid enough reputation to warrant belief).
And this isn’t meant to be an attack on anyone. I just feel its better to be cautious.
This “My PS” stuff is hilarious as hell. Surely that was made in error?
Oh it was obvious this poster had been making shit up. He even claimed he had the contracts and belittled anyone who suggested othwrwise. Its good to have it confirmed though.
I don’t know who said what about contracts in this matter, but I think you’re misreading the tweet - it only says they don’t have permanent contracts in place for Minecraft (because why would they). So it neither proves or disproves anything regarding 3 year contracts or other deals they might have in place
I think somebody investigated (or was it some article) that the usual contract length after the acquisition was 1 year or something and that’s what made 3 years unprecedented.
