It seems like all of this COD focus has worked out well for MS, as I donāt think they ever really intended to make it exclusive for the foreseeable future. The players gained would probably not have made up for the loss in revenue, and it would have given Sony the chance to shift their players over to another FPS . One that in worst case could have evolved into a challenger to COD.
And with all of the COD and cloud focus, MS doesnāt seem to have promised much else beyond these 10 year COD contracts (except perhaps with respect to some of the cloud deals theyāve made?). Unless I missed something, it seems MS are largely free to do as they like with the remaining output.

Man what a week of wins for Xbox! I donāt think weāve ever seen this many this fast. Slightly on topic I think this is the week for closing and we move on to the next. Hopefully Sega.

By the way, does this make a Monday closing more likely? I mean besides everything else, sony doing this 2 days before the end of the current deadline canāt also be coincidence can it?

It really depends on who you ask. The forum here and analysts in general seem to be split between MS closing on Monday/Tuesday and a scenario where they extend the deadline 4-6 weeks to let the discussions with the CMA play out.
I donāt know if this news hurts or helps either scenario, but I would imagine it helps with the discussions at the very least.

I wonder if the fact this has been anounced on a sunday is because MS want to close everyone tomorrow, i might be wrong but rarely is this kind of thing done on a sunday.

The Blackpanthaa dude has been mad at xbox ever since PG refused to give him early access for fh5, since then he has resorted to trash talking the game and hyping up/praying whichever next racing game comes out beats forza. Best to ignore people with agendas.

I fully continue to believe this acquisition closes tomorrow for the reasons I laid out earlier about the cost and risk of extending. This Sony news makes it more likely they close next week, as Iām sure Sony would hold off until the last minute.

I have no idea of gaming industry and but it looks like MS is creating a new order. Sonyās bribing strategy now looks even more stupid and childish than it was before.
Xbox now kinda reminds me of Kawasaki. The Kawasaki corporation is a massive group of heavy duty industry, aerospace, armamentā¦ And then they have the Kawasaki motorbikes which is almost like a toy company just for branding and to make cool motorbikes. Because why not?
Xbox is a bit like the Kawasaki motorcycles. The tip of the iceberg. And they REALLY donāt need to win any stupid console war.
I would expect to se more and more content being realeased in many different platforms, including playstation.
