Microsoft-Activision-Blizzard Discussion Thread |OT3| - Sony bends the knee!

They have no duty to but in reality will do. If they don’t of course MS will not and should not wait.

probably similar to how Zenimax interacts with Xbox currently. Close.

Blizzcon will have some Xbox stuff but its still going to be Blizzcon, probably attendees will receive free Game Pass trials like how I received a game pass trial for attending Halo Outpost Discovery would be my guess.

Sure in the same way Judge Corley didn’t need to rule for months if she chose to. In practical terms though they will do.

I remember it taking a little while for some newer games to come to game pass later and some older titles getting added via pc compatability over time. I wouldn’t expect one massive game pass drop, but there will realistically be a pretty big drop shortly after the acquisition closes. New Call of Duty titles will probably take a while - but something like Diablo 4 is a bit more or a maybe cause Microsoft had an advertising deal that might smooths out a lot of the contractual difficulty.

And for Crash Team Rumbles sake, I hope that launches sooner rather than later.

In terms of gamepass timing depending on the deal and how it all works if ABK are a limited subsidiary at least initially then one assumes each game will need a contract and licensing agreement for gamepass so may take longer than a few days.

I honestly doubt that the court will respond. The FTC has not yet completed their filing and Microsoft will likely submit their filing in opposition close to midnight tonight. The court needs to review both and formulate a response within 24 hours basically.

They also would need to review the FTCs appeal reason against Judge Corleys 53 page decision and they have other cases.

Two republicans are also on that court so they wont be looking to do Lina any favors by reviewing quickly.

The only deadline judge corely had was a self imposed deadline. The 9th circuit court of appeals has not imposed nor stated tehy would even consider it before friday.

They may choose to look over it before friday they may not. But judge corely and this situation is different as she specifically said she would do something when she didn’t have too and she did it. Whoever, is looking over this won’t even see it possibly till today and who knows where it stacks in relation to what else is going on for them.

Your stance seems to be they will rule on this before friday because they have too.

All i’m saying is there is no obligation for the court to rule on this before friday. They may or may not depending on there workload and what cases are currently being worked on. You seem to be under the impression they will just because of the deadline and they are under no legal requirement to rule on this before friday. Its completely up to them as to when they rule on this. So in that regards it is a race as will the system process the filing and put a restraining order up before friday at end of the day as if they can’t or won’t then its moot.

That was planned for many months with no objection to the deal.

I dont think ms will just do thst for abk. Might be more smaller batches.

There is an appeal and then there is application for emergency stay. The stay can from what I hear be a very short ruling. In other words ‘no’.

The thing is the TRO is almost certain to be rejected. Apparently. So it’s not really a race against that.

Not going to lie, I think this is the first thing to do for me.

I do agree with you there. I’m not judging the merits of their case. I was merely calling it a race as its two systems competing against each other even though its indirect.

Will definitely jump in to some of those old games for a hit of nostalgia.

The ABK NASDAQ index removal was the clincher, you don’t do that unless they will close in the next few days. These dumbasses can cling to anything they want but reality will be apparent very soon to even those nutjobs.

I know we all want to see the big drops, but as a multiplayer focused series they could really do something special if they draw it out and add new titles to the service weekly. Make a big push for each game, a big sale across every platform, double XP and any other bonuses they can muster - make every single Call of Duty coming to the service an event and get those multiplayer servers hopping.

MS & ABK: “We move.”

Their actions show confidence and that they are wrapping this thing up, one way or another. They are not worried so I won’t be.

after the 10 year deal is up do we see Call of Duty become an Xbox console exclusive?

If they wishes.

If its still as big as it is today? No.

Do I believe it will still be as big as it is today? Not really. Everything sees its time in the sun end at some point.

Doubt it but who knows what the market will look like in 10 years
