Microsoft-Activision-Blizzard Discussion Thread |OT3| - Sony bends the knee!

My brother and I are dying for Tony Hawk’s Underground and Spider-Man 2 to be added but I guess those are some of the most least likely huh? Then again EA got some licensed music games in so hopefully they can get at least one Tony Hawk game through. Spider-Man anything sounds extremely unlikely.

What can be added? Not that good Crash games and the okay Quake 4 and Wolfenstein?

Amazing to see an actual judge repeating what many have been saying as to why should regulators care if Sony is harmed.

I was hoping all those Spidey games could come too, damn.

Funny. He said that 2 weeks before announcing Bungie I think.

They’ll certainly pick some studios up but I wonder if Amazon is gunna enter the ring or Saudi etc.

No matter what happens MS isnt taking COD off Playstation, at least not in the next decade.

They dont have to offer Sony any guaranteed terms though at least

Lisa Khan wants to fail to show that laws need to be changed. If FTC fails, it is not because they have no case, this is because of the system. With that kind of logic, you can go very deep.

Almost forgot……

I agree, i cant see them taking it of Sony, but i mean more like MS basically have full control on what they offer them, when they offer it etc. They now arent held tonany contractual restrictions.

Good outcome. It was ridiculous that FTC’s case was based on what would be the best outcome for Sony, market leader.

Well, hopefully it’s not impossible. My brother has all the Spider-Man 360 games physically from when they were new and apparently they’re worth a fair bit now. Hopefully they can add them even if they’re disc only and not sold digitally. And I myself have some OG Xbox Tony Hawks laying around I hope I can use

It’s sad it took 18 months and a Judge to reach conclusions everyone with a brain has been saying from Day 1 of this shit

This whole saga has had it’s fair share of surprises, so I won’t jump the gun just yet, but it’s looking very good right now.

Welcome to politicians!

It’s even sadder when the people regulating this deal should be in favor of deals like this because of what it brings to customers but do the exact opposite

Regulation needs a complete overhaul, at least the FTC

I’ve already seen people dooming claiming that Microsoft will take away their purchased Activision titles from their Switch and PS libraries. Things are going to be heating up on forums today, this should be quite a ride.

The moment MS promised to keep COD on playstation, the case was over.

This is funny, nobody talked about Candy Crush, World of Warcraft, Diablo, Crash Bandicoot, OverWatch, etc, etc

MS is becoming an IP factory, not saying that those games will become exclusive, but their marketing will be much more tied to Xbox.

Whenever they can put CoD on Game Pass I think they should not only put every game but every older DLC pack as well. Every MP Map + Zombie Map being available on Game Pass would really give people a lot of incentive to play older CoDs on XGP even if they’re coming over from another platform because they wont have to buy 10+ year old DLC packs for $15. Start up the years of Banjo-Kazooie being made by Toys for Bob rumors/hope.

I also think they should consider putting the WoW sub + expansions on Game Pass, this one might be trickier because WoW subs alone bring in a boat load of money, but I think it would really help the population of the game a lot and get a bunch of new people and returning people in. Why pay $15 for access to just WoW, but getting access to WoW + GP is worth it for a lot of people.
