Xbox needs gamepass content and lots of it. To drive growth. That’s their big aim. And ABK was the plan. With that not happening now they need an alternative.
Otherwise they risk gamepass stagnating,

This is getting ugly and it hasn’t even started yet i hope Biden asks Khan to.step aside before it causes the Democrats problems in the 2024 elections all it takes is for the Orange man to start saying the things being said about Khan being foreign-born and collusion to attack America it’s all a bunch of bull crap but people will feed into it.
This is how the Qnon stuff started little threads like this people feed into it it starts to make just a tiny bit of sense enough to establish a theory of conspiracy.
I’m not cool with any of that so for me it’s time to get off this rollercoaster it’s been a pleasure enjoying this whole experience but it’s time to get off the ride for me. Khan has done some wonderful things as far as drugs. I wish she would be go after big tech but with pure facts not ideology if it wasn’t for that I would support Khan 100%
Would i enjoy ABK games in Gamepass of course do I think its unfair of course but if you think about it life in general is unfair it is what it is. Gamepass has to keep feeding us games so i’l leave that to them to make it happen and just enjoy gaming and fall back from social media and youtube channels dealing with this ABK stuff it’s starting to be mentally unhealthy and draining on both sides of the argument.

Yeah, yeah, I’ll list games they have coming to the service and you’ll move the goalposts. But tbh, this isn’t about gamepass, a lot of you just want Xbox to be green Sony and that’s simply not happening because MS makes less money that way in the future.

Oh I agree, but they were buying ABK for that huge gamepass content injection because they want to continue rapid growth.
They’ve got existing first party but like lots of analysts have said they need to expand the gamepass offering to continue growth and that means more content.

I’d prefer MS to be able to make big acquisitions like this but if that’s not gonna be on the table anymore then what else are they supposed to do
It’s not even about “hehe my box get’s a game yours doesn’t” it’s simply that they are a necessary evil in the video game market if they want to grow and get people into their ecosystem

Their text is a bit crap though, i.e. basically saying both parties have insignificant presence in Ukraine & zero cloud activity whatsoever ergo… “do what you want guys”.
Microsoft’s main priority with buying ABK was and continues to be for mobile. Call of Duty, Diablo, Candy Crush, etc. would have fast tracked their mobile ambitions.
If a huge Game Pass injection was the primary goal, EA or Ubisoft would have been a better deals. Hell, for $69 billion, they could have purchased an EA/Ubisoft and still acquired a Capcom or Sega.
Realistically what was ABK adding to Game Pass?
- Yearly Call of Duty
- Diablo every 3-5 years
- A Crash/Spyro type game every 2-3 years
- Maybe perks for WoW/Overwatch
VS
EA:
- Yearly NFL, NHL & FIFA (or whatever it’s called now)
- Battlefield every 3-4 years
- Dead Space every 3-4 years
- Mass Effect/Dragon Age every 3-4 years
- Star Wars every 3-4 years
- Maybe perks for Apex, NFL, NHL, FIFA
Both ABK and EA have massive back catalog of titles.
Don’t know about you, but I think most Xbox gamers would have taken EA over ABK if Game Pass injection was the primary driving force of this deal.
I reckon the EU regulator will be a huge one, if EU approves then I think this deal definitely has a chance to go through. If EU blocks it, I think it’s over.

This is exactly where the deal stands. MS needs Europe because the FTC can be defeated in court.
That would leave the CMA standing alone. China I believe is a non-factor due to the global geopolitical situation.

Wait they actually said this??? I can pretty much guarantee that’s not a real scenario unless there’s a weird ass underground cloud gaming community living in secret 
I and most likely almost everyone else buys XGPU for Game Pass + Gold and get a nice add on of Cloud.

I thought the same thing when I read that part, I have no clue how CMA assesses stuff to be honest and based on what data as a lot of the stuff they say can probably be easily refuted and a lot of it seems I’ll intentioned imo.

It’s definitely going to be overturned by CAT. I’ve seen past case where CAT has sent it back to remittal for less egregious errors.
