Iām guessing the EU is currently gathering data, and when they come up with their verdict, they will either block it or bring Amazon in to discuss remedies.
It will be hilarious if the decision ended up being a reverse case of ABK and this.
It would be sad. This is one of the deal that shouldnt have made it through.
If microsofts deal with Activision is screwed over what will their next move be?
Probably going after smaller targets. All of this drama is over Call of Duty and its behemoth presence in the industry.
Purchasing the UK.
My guess would be buying loads of devs that are for the most part privately owned (itās quicker than buying a public company and easier).
Now trying to google what gaming devs are private isnāt easy. Main one I know of was Bethesda.
I will expand on this significantly soon. As it is somewhat in relation to what I do for work.
Shotgun wedding with buying all their partners (Int/Night, Stoic, Avalanche, IOI, some Embracer studios like Crystal Dynamics and Eidos etc)
So basically, if we take Microsoftās words to heart about block equal no more, itās do or die. Endgame is approaching and this time, Iām 42% sure.
Crystal, eidos, ioi, and sega
Or you know more important reasons why it shouldnāt be blocked without relying on Xenophobia.
Psst⦠wrong thread
Fek lol cheers

The only logical solution
I wish this administration would get involved no need for the FTC to be acting like this .
Biden himself likely isnt happy with Khan and the FTC (remember Biden is a centrist democrat, he tries to appeal to the left wing of the party but he himself is fairly corporate and pro business)
The issue is that there arenāt many avenues where Biden can fire his appointees in, he cant fire Khan outright but he can replace her for the new term if he wins 2024
I havenāt posted in awhile.
Time for a mea culpa. I should not have listened to the āin the know peopleā on this (except Idas). This deal is unprecedented, in a lot of ways.
I was led to believe that closing over the CMA was not possible. Well, it seems that MS might well do just that.
But first the FTC and all along weāve heard that they have a weak case. Well, with the deal progressing as it has, I guess at this stage we should not rule anything out. Idas did say that the FTC is being underestimated. So, maybe theyāll pull off a victory, against the odds?
Who knows at this stage, is what Iām trying to say.
Something I dont think was posted here before. Early on in the process the FTC came before a judge and told the judge and Microsoft that they were willing to negotiate. Then they spent the rest of the time not negotiating. Does anyone remember which judge the FTC told that to? Was it their ALJ during scheduling?
If so, Microsoft should cite that in refernce to how misleading and misrepresentative of their position to the courts.
