I donât think its that dire
Tbf the CMA union hating is not exactly news considering they are a Gov org
It feels like they wanted to delay this thing as long as they could. They could have been blocking this thing a long time ago but they chose to drag their feet. That decision feels so damn stupid, like something coming from their magic hat at the last minute.
MS could win the appeal but they still would have delayed the deal a year further.
Not necessarilyâŚapparently bigger mergers get priority with CAT.
The threshold required to prove irrationality is very high. Maybe listen to those lawyers who have been through this before and they all say the same thing. Judicial review standard makes this really really hard.
Yeah CAT is absolutely tossing this in the trash
Theyâre an independent body from the government I think
They think itâll be a 11bn dollar industry in just 3 years lol theyâre on acid I think.
Iâve heard the argument lately but how does it make sense? Cloud runs off series X blades, if the game isnât running great on console it by definition wonât play well on cloud. As for mobile, Microsoft have nearly no foothold in the market this deal would have helped it tremendously. The biggest players in the mobile market are Chinese companies so almost no chance Microsoft buys one of those
OK, still gone to take atleast another year. CMA gonna take their sweet time and milk it.
The gamebiz article said up to 9 months, probably done in less. Still itâs much longer than anticipated.
They werenât kidding when they said CMA is random.
Some have taken a year. Will depend partly on the complexity of evidence.
But I think 6 months minimum.
Disaster
Im still confident this is going though at the end of the day but damn this is getting old. over cloud gaming no less. now we may have to deal with this though 2024 ugggh
You mean incompetent.
Welcome to the uk bois. This country has been going down the drain for a while.
I know some of you are mad at this because maybe we miss out on acquisitions but what if and hear me out Microsoft has already put in place possibly if acquiring the studios after this deal with activation goes through like letâs say the studios they partnered with theyâre going to keep funding them and working with them until the deal goes through so that they can be acquired that could be a possibility
Iâm sorry, but I donât agree. Do you want to enter the PC market? Fine. In the mobile market? Okay. In the cloud market? Good for you. There will be users interested in each of the three selected markets, but the same goes for the console one. You canât treat your console users like second class customers just because you want to expand into other markets. As a console user, I always expect the best from Microsoft, what they do elsewhere shouldnât matter to me. Let me be clear: itâs okay for Microsoft to expand into other markets, but not at the cost of ignoring another part of the user base.
