I do not understand how this would hurt xbox.

People outside the core gaming bubble aren’t really talking about this.

If MS releases good games and services this doesn’t really matter.

Ms is dropping man hours and a ton of money into this deal. And it really feels like they’ve put all their chips into this one large single basket, it’s hard to argue that this doesn’t affect how they themselves treat the Xbox brand.

If this goes on into 2024 their last acquisition will continue to be Bethesda which was made in 2021.

I’d even argue them focusing on this deal played a huge part in their very lackluster 2022, trying to look small and weak for a deal to go through is smart, only until the deal fails and you’re left looking small and weak to the average consumer for 2 years straight with nothing to show for it.

Meta appealed over Giphy and CAT overruled CMA off procedural errors, this let the CMA redo their review but use the same argument

The CMA cloud argument would likely get tossed out due to irrationality which means the CMA wouldnt be able to use that argument again

Honestly, I think the odds of CTA going against the CMA are bigger than these were for the CMA dropping the console concern after Phase 2.

I believe it’s 67 % win for the CMA / 33% loss for the CMA.

Thanks for the clarification. But I think the deal is almost dead to me at this point. I know MS could still possibly win the appeal, EU might approve it, etc. I just don’t feel confident about it anymore. We all remembered what happened with the provisional finding as well as the console market concerns being dropped, and believed there is still a chance…
