Honestly, I’d prefer MS to use this as leverage.
Buy out those two games and give them two future titles on PS5 day 1.
Trade something for Spider-Man.
Use Bethesda to make the industry better.

This is the ‘denial’ stage of mourning by Sony fans.
Gamepass will be monumental forward. HOLLY BALLS OF DOOM
Pretty much this. I don’t see a scenario where not having Gamepass is a good gaming deal. It’s pretty much mandatory at this point.
A new Playstation advantage has been announced… you’ll never have to experience Elder scroll bugs again!
20 by 2020? Its even more, holy shiiiiitt. MS ain’t playing around.
This is amazing news for me, I’m so God damn excited.
Wow, this is stunning. Absolutely huge. Will Fallout and Elder Scrolls even come to PS5? Even if they do, $70 vs. included with Game Pass, wow.
Xbox is now #1 destination for WRPG.
We don’t know any of that for sure. I’m sure they will follow their current trend of allowing announced items on Playstation. The only way I see them allowing future releases on that platform is if Sony plays ball. Because xbox is now basically console/pc/cloud devices, bethesda still has a huge platform to sell games onto.
We got this from Todd:
“Like our original partnership, this one is about more than one system or one screen. We share a deep belief in the fundamental power of games, in their ability to connect, empower, and bring joy. And a belief we should bring that to everyone - regardless of who you are, where you live, or what you play on. Regardless of the screen size, the controller, or your ability to even use one.”
I saw people making this out to be that they are staying multiplatform. I’d say he could mean PC/Xbox console/Mobile with xCloud. Massive reach, still, without PS5.
Apparently the deal won’t be fully complete until end of 2021, so those timed games will stay timed I would think.
I kept telling people they weren’t going to play around. You can be an insider too. Read Nadella and Hoods comments on gaming. They believe. Something big was bound to drop within this fiscal year. Just never considered Bethesda. In hindsight, should have. Fact that Zenimax was peddling out temporary exclusives like they were seemed to indicate less interest in engagement and building up their IPs long term than money.
What I’m curious about is how Microsoft treats Bethesda going forward. All big acquisitions thus far have been left alone. They’ve yet to take a hatchet to streamline operations to any of them. Does this mean employees on the publishing arm of Bethesda are safe?
Is it important? All those games come to Game Pass that is the megaton . As a gamer I do not care where else it releases but I can play all those games for a little fee. This is insane value.
I just about fell out of bed upon seeing this news this morning. Wild.
Wow that’s a big boy move. Xbox isn’t messin around anymore. Gamepass keeps winning.
@XboxP3 Congrats on a huge announcement (and especially on keeping it quiet). I’m sure that your employees are feeling very excited about all the positive things coming out of Xbox recently. As a customer, I’m thrilled with all the great experiences that are being offered to me at an amazing value. This news is great for those that are fans of Bethesda franchises, probably helps ensure new IPs will be funded, and it also demonstrates to everyone that you’re extremely serious about the long run. I appreciate your refreshingly open candor in interviews, and really am looking forward to a great launch. I feel reassured that you are doing what you say, putting the customer first - and I can’t wait to see what games come out of the enormously talented studios and partners at Xbox. Thanks for all your hard work,
A gamer
Well fuck me! I can’t even…
Fallout New Vegas sequel guys please!
I’m still shook.
Savage. Lol
This is mental.
I love Arkane Studios as well.
The studio capacity MS has now is industry leading.
That said, they still need a bit more 3rd person output.
Whilst Bethesda are great, they seem to have a massive focus on 1st person games.
I hope he sees this. Kind of wild how he just appeared out of the blue without being tagged in a Sony thread.
Phil, please let us all pre-order tomorrow. Bots are ruthless. I was able to get a pre-order in for PS5 due to them being so unorganized but once the bots caught wind later in that day, every site had issues.
