The game is super early in development (my guess is Arkane Lyon has also been working on something else over the last 2 years) and it’s more of an announcement of the partnership between Marvel and Arkane than a beginning of the marketing cycle for the game by Xbox. There is a pattern for Disney’s IPs to announce the projects ASAP - Ubisoft’s Star Wars, Quantic Dream’s Star Wars or Machinegames’ Indiana Jones were announced as soon as the ink dried.
It’s possible it’s already planned as a cross-gen game…

For the love of God, there might be a couple reasons why they’re not putting the thing just yet. Again, I have the say this. Maybe they’re still finalizing deals with Disney and marvel, especially since this game is just starting development

Thanks for this. I appreciate the clarity as I don’t frequent these forums(or any forums for that matter) and am not as in tune as some of you here. That makes things a bit more sensible now. I also appreciate you not responding like a man child and being unnecessarily hostile.

I’m interested to know if they mean full production and they’ve been working on preliminary stuff since deathloop? If so I could see it around 2026. I expect we won’t see or hear much for a couple of years atleast

Yeah, it’s kinda weird all around. Probably won’t hear from this game for a long while after the announcement. Just like Indiana Jones, seems Disney wants their new video game projects announced well before release.
3rd person, mature, action adventure, immersive sim Blade by Arkane. God what did I do to deserve this blessing.

Do you guys think the art style in the Blade trailer will be in the final product? It’s an interesting decision because the other 3rd person action adventure Marvel hero games (Guardians and Spidey) went for more realism.
I think it’s pretty much in line with Arkane’s games, so likely will keep the art style.

Yeah but the casual doesn’t know that. Granted they don’t say it’s Xbox but if they see it and think ahh that & there’s a blade game coming up likely to see it’ll be Xbox exclusive in the near future and think I’ll get myself an Xbox & play games until it releases.
It’s all about putting Xbox in the mind share & the conversation. Not about the hardcore gamer who knows everything about development times and processes. The market is far far bigger than the enthusiasts
