Gonna take some time out later today to do that. It would be great if it fixes the no signal issue because other than that it has mostly been smooth sailing.
Also just checked Gears 5. Works flawlessly on my Series X. Though I only played the campaign (which is VRR too but “only” 60 fps).
Remark: Isn’t it amazing that we talk about 120 fps with console games!? Nuts!

Does anyone else experience 'instant response game mode coming on when going to apps or dashboard sporadically?
Everything works beautifully except for game mode coming on randomly and some sort of weird static lines that display for a split second when switching apps and games.
I have the blip too, but it is nothing what bothers me. But the switching of ALLM is I assume due to the UI runs not in HDR nor in ALLM. Which brings me to my point: Does anyone know how to turn off the ALLM notification on the C9? Anyone?

Yep me too sometimes I get black screen and streak of white going across screen when it switches…its really quick tho …it wasn’t like this on one x
Oh I think you games mean the instant game response setting?

I’m guessing Xbox will issue an update soon to fix the allm mode. I don’t understand why it comes on when opening up Netflix, Apple TV, or other apps.

Manually installed the firmware. Went well. Turned the TV off, also plugged it off from the wall socket for a complete full turn off basically. Time to walk the dog, afterwards I’ll check if it all works. I expect no problems. My bro has the C9 too, also the latest firmware and it’s all fine for him.
I absolutely love this guy. The Aldi comment had me in tears!

Few questions for C9 owners.
In HDR game mode, do you have dynamic tone mapping off,on or set to HGIG? I know EvilBoris recommends HGIG but with many games I don’t see a difference between off and HGIG.
What color temperature and color gamut do you guys set it? It’s subjective but I’m curious.

Some games don’t use HGIG yet I know modern warfare does …no mans sky
Yeah I’m settling for warm 2 and auto as well. Used to be medium and extended or wide but for some games it’s not that great. For some cartoonyish games it can look great however.
As for HGIG. If a particular game doesn’t support it, aren’t we better off with DTM? Since HGIG in those cases are exactly like “off”.
Hgig still works a good example is forza horizon 4 the highlights in the clouds are brighter with hgig rather than dts some scenes are darker with hgig but some are brighter than dts…its weird all games will be using hgig moving forward thats what the xbox hdr calibration app is for I think
Best just to leave it on
Finally got around to watching the HDTVTest videos, Vincent makes awesome videos, that’s for sure.
He swears by using HGIG even if the game doesn’t support it. He doesn’t seem fond of DTM at all. I’m gonna mess around with the setting myself and see what happens.

Hey guys I’m going through all my settings on my new cx and I’m using the chart pn resetera for optimal settings i notice that all of them say black level low but that option is always grayed out and set to auto is there a way to change this?
