Ah yes, the Halo Killer. It was so intense, it even killed itself.
XDefiant by Ubisoft is the closest COD â competitorâ in terms of similar gameplay, and that game ainât even certified to be out on console yet lol. COD is too big to fail.
Indeed it is and was.
COD is more of a console thing though, on PC nothing will ever touch CSâ dominance, that game has insane legs for some reason. Iâve been gaming on PC since the 90s and I personally could never get into CS lol, even with all my friends paying it. Unreal Tournament though and Quake 3 Arena, that was the shit!
Especially when PlayStationâs profit margins are incredibly low, dropping the sales deals they have to try to move consoles is even more alarming than Xbox.
They had a chance to make a name but now MW is out, whatâs the point. To make matter worse, the next one is likely to be on Game Pass. Release it there is going to be death sentence for new coming shooters.

Ignore Console war speaking, the points here are rather wild.
Yeah, despite the gaming media sh*tting on it, MW3 is received well in the COD community, and I agree as an active COD player. The movement on MW3 is way better than MW2 and Sledgehammer has been listening to their fans, compared to Infinity Ward.
What the reference to retiring in a white T ?
I can only speak for myself, yet I personally prefer Naughty Dog sticking going forward only on Single player games.
I never was a fan of the multiplayer on Uncharted, I played it once and was done. Yet when it came to different skill levels on Uncharted or The Last of Us, Iâve played through the games several times.
So unless Iâm missing something I think this is for the better. Now if only they could find a way to bring back Jak and Dexter.
Basically, youâd never think a man of Jim Ryanâs stature would be caught dead wearing casual clothes. Even he couldnât wait for Spring to come.
While I agree that despite the high PS hardware sales, things arenât looking as rosy over there as Sony oftengets portrayed to be, I donât think they cancelled 6 GaaS games, just delayed them iirc
Although theyâve already cancelled at least 2 now soâŚ
This mismanagement cost ND and their fans years of dev time that could have been put into a blockbuster singleplayer game. What a waste of time.
Sony forgot the purpose of ND when they assigned (or allowed) them to do a GAAS game. The purpose of ND in Sonyâs stable of studios is simple: build cutting-edge, graphical showpieces that sell more consoles. Their purpose is to (1) show off the hardware and (2) add to the exclusive library. ND games arenât supposed to be a cash-cows like Minecraft or Apex Legends.
The game that killed Factor Five⌠I think Iâm going to write a paper about the independent studios that crumbled after aligning with PS exclusivity. Not as a told-you-so, but more as a warningâŚ
Edit: as @JonnJonzz pointed out, I mixed up Factor 5 being shuttered after Lair and Free Radical developed Haze. Which is even worse as it highlights two examples instead of one studio closed after a PS-aligned exclusive failed.
Problem is the games they make are getting more and more expensive and take even longer to make
PS profit margins are absolutely terrible, selling record amounts of consoles doesnât do much good when they barely make money on each one sold if not lose money and all of your studios are making one and done single player games that are only getting harder and more expensive to make every gen
I do wonder when these games are gonna come out, I imagine factions had a pretty sizeable team on it, ND games already took forever to make and now in this gen they take even longer, Factions will have eaten into that even further
Maybe one by the end of then gen and the other next gen?
I agree with this 100 percent, but I think they should make an exception for one or two studios (ND and SM in this case imo). Let Sucker Punch or whatever other studio make the GAAS games.
Yeah, just to be clear, I donât think Sony should be throwing all their studios into GaaS, just that pumping out the usual single player games from all of them is going to get harder as time goes on when their profits are already as bad as they are right now
Bethesda being with Xbox only is hurting Sony and soon ABK aside from CoD but even there, it is hurting by boosting their competitor. Back to Bethesda, Starfield sale would have helped Sony since they were the favored console, let alone the fan base size. Now thatâs gone. More will come and more will be only on Xbox, which they will feel more pain.
Sony did rely on third party games to cover the cost, but not only itâs being shared with Xbox, but theyâre gutted out by them. Itâs going to get harder from there on.
To me this highlight what a herculean effort it was for halo and gears to release both a single player and multiplayer game at the same freaking time. While factions was announced 10 years ago and now is cancelled. Bravo to 343 and coalitions.
Fairgame$ is coming tho!!
