Jim Ryan Retires, Connie Booth leaving after 34 years, Layoffs at Sony, Multiplayer games Cancelled

I’m sorry but everyone should now start asking the question that was all too familiar with Xbox: what’s going on?

Damn… There is no match for Xbox studios.

Day one PC release, 2 console SKU release, multi-player release day and date. PS studios aren’t even close.

Tlou2Sold10Mil is a lame ass boomer hashtag

Will not be the only cancelled PS GAAS, from my perspective.

Instead of dunking on them I’m just going to say that that sucks :pensive:. Not only for me, as someone looking forward to it, but for the, probably, 100+ devs that have been working on it for almost half a decade.

Game is troubled to cancellation or is Sony yet again dialing back the games.

The results of Jim Ryan vision for the generation are beginning to appear and Naughty Dog is the first victim and for sure more will come

Sony said they will slow down the process, not cancelling. This one is cancelled, so this is not looking good for investors. Either Factions was never on their list or they will find something to replace.

Next on the chopping block: Guerilla’s online Horizon spinoff?

While Sony and its fanbase touts about console sales, shareholders and the executives right now within Sony is in panic about the stagnant growth they are experiencing in their revenue/profit despite record breaking sales in hardware.

In the end of the day, shareholders would eventually demand growth and that might result( or are already resulting in) more live service games to make up for the ballooning cost of these “high quality” single player games. As much as we doom about Xbox, Sony is also in a tough spot right now, and they are more reliant to their gaming business compared to Microsoft.

Sony has two cancelled GaaS games already, not off to a great start considering they haven’t even released one.

Ah that’s right. Granted, it wasn’t first party but definitely an investment that could have threatened CoD. I’m being super generous.

Nothing can threaten COD, NOTHING!

I dunno man, have you heard about this amazing new franchise HAZE?

The media would love to make you think so with “The Finals is doing better than MW3 at Steam!” or “CoD has less players than Counter-Strike 2” even though the latter has always been popular in Steam but hey who’s counting.
