Inside the Development of Halo Infinite - Jason Schreier article

Like Jason literally tweeted the scores and said sometimes you get “An Anthem… or sometimes you get God of War”.

The dude literally is praising the game and the reviews.

I know we all have a bone to pick with him sometimes, but this literally not the time to do it.

Like this isn’t a negative article… Like at all.

Thats not how they operate.

Imagine if the game sucked AND this article was scathing? I would have had to thrown @ProgStopper out of multiple windows.

I was seriously expecting shit like there was massive crunch culture and everyone hates everyone at the studio sort of stuff lol

Halo is the only ‘6th’ game we need.

Anyway…

Apparently Jason said that Bloomberg does not allow him to go as in-depth in these kind of stories like kotaku did .

Like I said, I’ve only read snippets, and those snippets seemed to have the usual Schreier edge. My biggest point was about the timing of the release, I’m so glad some of you haven’t had the personal interaction or experience to see the forest through the trees but you do you I guess and belittle anyone that has.

Edit: As it may have been unclear, the latter points weren’t directed at you @ProgStopper or @javycane.

And to be fair, I was expecting both.

Both of these are welcomed surprises.

Makes sense, it’s a business.

this was a very disappointing and short article without a lot of substance or insight. i expect more from Jason.

Tech and management problems and cut content is mundane and common for most of big software projects. Replace 343 with another studio name and nothing changes much :woman_shrugging:

yes but the understanding changes based on context. We won’t perceive an Anthem report the same way we will for Halo especially when we have seen and played the game for ourselves to know where things worked and where they clearly didn’t.

that I kinda agree. I wanted a lot more from it, maybe this report is gonna mirror Halo Infinite’s live service and update over time lol

Yeah I was expecting a lot more drama involved. Though yesterday he said the article wouldn’t even be as big as everyone was expecting.

make no mistake, the limitation to contractors MS has in place is a decent thing, maybe not for game development but workers

ok this was good .
