Indiana Jones and The Great Circle | Review

Yup, highly recommend downloading it though, it looks fantastic.

I’ve only had a few bugs so far including a candle stick getting wedged inside an ally’s chest which was pretty funny seeing them walk around with it.

Also a fascist imploded after a brief brawl.

I did, it’s just nice to see the option. So far, I made it pass the first area in the Vatican before meeting Antonio and the only enemy I avoided was the guy with the dog because I didn’t want to find out if I needed to attack the dog.

Completed the main story for Indiana Jones and the Great Circle.

  • Visuals - 9.0/10 (excellent)
  • Audio - 9.0/10 (excellent)
  • Gameplay/Combat - 7.0/10 (good)
  • Story/Characters - 9.0/10 (excellent)
  • Overall - 8.5/10 (great)

Loved everything in the game from the world, locations, puzzles, the whip, platforming, action sequences, story/characters, visuals and audio but not the actual combat/stealth system. Simply didn’t enjoy it at all and at times near the end of the game, I was just avoiding/running past enemies if I could because I didn’t want to get into a combat encounter with them. Other than that and the corners of the screen being darkened when crouched, no major negatives or complaints. On a technical level, I previously mentioned that progression bug that the day one patch fixed. There’s a level/area near the end of the game where there was some stutter when I was just walking around and in the same area, a lot of pop in with the environment and yes, it’s noticeable. Other than these minor issues, game ran smooth with no crashes or anything like that. Outside of the progression bug which was a major issue but thankfully, has already been resolved, it was a very smooth and issue free ride. Overall, Indiana Jones and the Great Circle is a great game and if you’re someone who prefers slower paced games or immersive sims, you’ll definitely like and enjoy Indy.

In case you are in the mood for more Indy and you’ve never played it…Emperor’s Tomb. Older game but still a lot of fun! But I’m guessing you’ve played it.

A simple crack of the whip sends those doggos scattering. No need to hurt them!

OK good, I wasn’t looking forward to when I had no choice but to fight them.

No, these are not the stray doggos of Stalker 2.

Or Fallout.

Pete, how do you get through this stuff so quick. Im still in Giza

To ease your fears the dogs just run away and lay down (thankfully)

Was off from work for four days, purchased the Early Access edition and only completed the main story line.

I have so far avoided fighting anyone with a dog, but I only just started and going around the Vatican.

I didn’t get excited when this game got announced

I decided it wasn’t for me wasn’t going to try it but I was soo bored from multiplayer games and though I will just download it on gamepass just to see the visuals etc

I am blown away by this game and it’s just putting a smile on my face.

About 7 hours in and I am still in Vatican and only triggered the next level by accident

So many things in the levels I found by just exploring, different paths, the levels with underground ways and this all can be missed if you don’t want to explore

So much of the explorations happens organically and fits the story. Uncharted has lacked that, it felt like by the numbers level design but in here it’s soo beautifully integrated in to the story and setting.

Puzzles are great and gives you the sense of wonder and makes you feel like Indy.

Combat I feel is a bit too weighty for my liking, I just wish Indy was 10 to 20% lighter if it makes sense

I hope rest of the game is like this

Absolutely my GOTY. No other game comes close to achieving specifically what it sets out to do.

Yea this really is what gaming is supposed to be about, I’m laughing at other places try real hard to bring this one down with Steam CCU’s and other things and nit picks but nothing is sticking.

Sad ANYTHING Xbox related has to go through mine field after mine field before the consensus/media/fanboys will let them have a win,

The game is amazing, getting great reviews, great user feedback, game is polished and just a ton of fun.

I think this format is a great way for the Indiana Jones IP to move forward outside of movies. Very rarely does a licensed IP game nail it so well but this is a great fit going forward.

I hope we get more in the series.

I was pretty sure it was STALKER 2 like 2 weeks ago… But Indiana Jones is really high in my GOTY list right now.

It nails everything about the genre while doing some stuff we are expecting from TPS adventure games.

I agree. it’s set up now to be a new gaming franchise for as long as they want.
