Yeah, so far it’s fantastic. Playing it in cinematic mode seems to keep the motion sickness at bay too. Changed some other settings as well, and so far so good. The transitions from first- to third person is still a bit jarring but it works.
I did not expect an immersive sim Indy but it’s phenomenal and fits so well.
Good to hear that the cinematic mode and other settings are helping with the motion sickness. Yeah, it’s definitely an immersive sim and a great one too. Enjoy!!
I started playing yesterday as well and have been having a great time so far. Replaying a movie section for the tutorial was a great idea and the Vatican has been full of rewarding exploration and various ways to approach gameplay challenges. It’s deliberately slower than most games and I’m thankful for it. I think death and body carry animations are a bit weird for the guards but that’s about my only complaint so far.
Just made it pass the Vatican, although I wasn’t expecting it and will need to return to get some other skill books. I started the game on the highest difficulty and have been getting my ass kicked every once in a while, as at least 2 enemies can 2 shot me by punching. Made all the worst because I haven’t really been blocking, just moving in and out range and using the whip to disarm them, pick up their weapons and beat them up with it.
So far playing without aim assist has been going great, the few times I have used the revolver I had no trouble hitting my targets. But I expect to have a different opinion once I use a rifle at range.
Just completed the Vatican level, everything in the game just screams quality, from the acting, graphics, level design and puzzles to the cool exploration with the camera. The dishonored comparisons definitely make sense. Just a shame Machine Games won’t get the plaudits they should have gotten at the Game Awards because of the stupid cut off date.
Finished the game today and its overall a great game. Absolutely loved my time with it and there are no negatives to write about.
Great story, voice acting, level design, graphics, puzzles. The Himalayas and shanghai levels were soo good and I wish I got one more of those set piece levels.
I’m playing too much Starfield again(no such thing), because it’s influencing my playthrough. I’m going in attacking every Nazi I see in Gizeh, shooting them and fighting them head on more often than normal.
Yeah, I’ve noticed it’s possible to kill every single fascist/nazi in a level and then loot freely at my own pace. Don’t even need to use guns, just punching my way through levels.
I have to be a little more cautious, because I decided to play on the highest difficulty like I always try to see if I can handle it and I’m not good gamer. But I just decided not to bother with disguises and just fight as many of them as I can, shooting, ducking into cover, using the gun to hit them when I run out of ammo. Using the whip to stun and disarm, and as I’m finding more books to level my stats and attack power that just gets easier, right now I’m one medicine bottle away from adding more health.
I finished it yesterday and it is still a 10/10 start to finish. My only gripe is the ending feels like it got expedite a tiny bit and is begging for a second one.
Please do a second game and expand on it. They nailed the adventure formula in FPP to a T. Perfect execution.
I really like what they do with the darkness in this game, the only other game where the dark made me feel like I needed to be wary was Hellblade 2. Also, really glad I used the guns I picked up instead of my own, because I didn’t want to try my luck even if I did lower the difficulty.
