This sounds like a dream game for me. I can’t wait to check it out with early access starting tonight. The callout by some reviews to Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis both makes me feel old and very excited for this game!
Great review. This game should be celebrated, a AAA game that’s doing different stuff than all the norms of the AAA model. Refreshing and great to see that it’s being recognized, flaws and all. MachineGames rewarded my trust in them.

Yeah, I get it. I just push back at this whenever I see it, What is a serious issue for a lot of people was hijacked by muppets, it sucks.

The game is amazing, looks unbelievable on the Series X and is a joy. Indy always translated well to video games and I think after the last few bad movies and Ford getting too old for more roles future sequels would be a great way to tell more stories.

Truth be told, I didn’t watch it because I want to go in blindly. The only thing I can say is, Geoff, change your rule for nomination next year. Like really.

The cut off always grinds me gears. Games that launch in December rarely make the cut for the following year. I felt bad for Chained Echoes because it launched in December and got snubbed in all categories it would’ve been eligible. I know the following year Sea of Stars ended up winning some awards, but I felt Chained Echoes was the much better game
Smash Bros was the same.

The Game Awards will never be anything more than a sales, marketing and advertising show. The only way that it would be a true awards show is if it’s in February and the entire calendar year is included.

Loving the design on the review!
Put in a couple of hours before going to bed and it’s shaping up to be my GoTY already. They’ve nailed the whole vibe from the movies and there’s just so much you can get up to. Luckily its release coincides with a Spanish public holiday, so I can put some serious time into it this weekend.
