For me the biggest problems for horizon, is the story, characters m, depth of world and activity variety.

The combat looks nice and responsive, but if I want to play a third person shooter gears and uncharted are better and if i want melee theres better stuff like gow, star wars FO and even soulsborne games. The horizon games remind me of assassin creed games, they look great but they are lacking for me in the story and gameplay department.

I really enjoy the setting and the story to be honest. Aloy is very likable as a character but… no one else stood out for me.

I also enjoy the gameplay loop with the dino robots. The melee combat seems improved, which was abysmal in the first game.

For some reason I really enjoy the 30 FPS games from Sony’s first party. In other games I absolutely hate it. I think that part of the reason is the amazing animations. I’m constantly surprised by their motion capture work and makes me wonder how on earth are the only ones achieving such quality.

I am sure they will have a 60 fps (lower res possibly) option.

Also Hivebusters was targeting 60FPS and this most likely 30FPS (for the quality mode).

I’m sure they’ll have a 60fps mode running at a lower resolution. I didn’t see anything that would prevent that.

I wasn’t interested in the first place, but the trailer confirmed my expectations for visuals…PS4 like at native 4K…on another forum I was attacked for suggesting it looked like a PS4 game and a few months later they confirmed it was cross gen.

I thought it looked near flawless in terms of the look it’s going for. It looked so polished that I would believe a 2021 release date.

The only one thing I would think falls short it’s the audio. I wish the spacial audio was used for characters to make it all more immersive. Clear sounding “center channel” dialogue is good for cutscenes and clarity but it’s odd to hear your enemies grunt as if it’s ASMR right-by-your-ears.

Still, looks great!

I’m sure they’ll have a 60fps mode running at a lower resolution. I didn’t see anything that would prevent that.

I mean the game is coming to the PS4 so it’s not going to be absolutely thrashing the CPU, so lowering the resolution and potentially tweaking some settings should enable the game to run at 60fps.

I thought this game looked incredible. Like, better than I have ever seen before. And it didn’t need to make us guess if it was CG or not. Really, I think this will be the best looking video game for years and years. Maybe Ratchet and Clank can beat it though.

It did, but this is just the beginning. This and Ratchet are basically our first glimpse at AAA current gen games.

Yup, exactly my thoughts as well. I can only imagine how good this would look running at 60fps.

Also agree with this too. There should be an option to decrease the frequency of how much Aloy talks to herself like the Narrator in BioMutant.
