Horizon Forbidden West Gameplay Reveal

Christ. Well, I can only imagine what kind of wizardry they will pull off for Gears 6.

Here we go. And the nitpicking starts. SMH

But does anyone feels Guerilla Games makes amazing looking games but the voice acting is always a bit off.

Its only fair that sony games get scrutinized too, no?

The part where the mammoth is attacked and be drops all kinds of stuff, that looked really damn good, spotted some real nice destruction too.

I mean they definitely should. I just found it funny that speed with which people are able to find such things.

Tbh I’m glad the animation skips, its a game, I don’t want fucking RDR2 ā€œimmersiveā€ take ten days for each animation to finish before the action starts bullshit.

Yeah, tell me about it…lol, theres twitter accounts dedicated to either shitting on playstation or shitting on xbox. I dont know why people waste there time doing that, its cray.

HAHAHA… You can add Naughty Dog to the list too. I feel the pain. I personally prefer snappy animation/controls to slow spongy animations/controls

but i was told last year trailer from in game lol(guess what games got downgraded whatever they show it either cgi or gameplay or in engine trailer), looks great but you can tell it’s cross gen game.

Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart impressed me more and I believe that it looks better. I wish Horizon 2 wasn’t a cross-gen game. The only thing I can say to defend Horizon 2 in this regard is that unlike Ratchet, it’s a full fledged open world game.

Either way, day one for both. I do believe that Horizon 2 is early 2022 and honestly, they can use the extra 3+ months.

EDIT: Re-watched the trailer in 1440p and it looks far better than the live stream so I can believe that the 4K trailer would look even better.

Everyone is fooled by these cutscenes heavy games and photo mode. Gameplay don’t look like the cutscenes (with curated light probs) at all. It still looks great in movement and you can see Aloy get the most triangles and quality textures, but you have these memories of cutscene quality assets and lighting ingrained when playing.

I think that’s why you always see cutscenes first from these gameplay reveals from Sony. And it works really well to sell the game.

Looks amazing. Hard to believe this game is cross gen.

I enjoyed the first game and this one looks as fun. But, am I the only one who thinks the gameplay video is very low res? It feels like it’s not even 1080p… It seems like no one’s mentioning this so I’m not sure.

The pre-recorded 4K video is of much higher quality, watch that one. It’s in the OP.

Is this the game that will make any of you guys buy a PS5 in 2021/2022?

Me personally, still undecided. That is, if I could even find the thing in stock.

Game looks absolutely amazing and with some nice additions to the combat and traversal. One of my biggest complaints about the combat in the first was how simple the melee combat was, looks like they took steps to address that. Love the world and the details.

I can kind of see the hive buster comparison, big difference though is this is open world versus a linear design.

Can’t wait to play this now! Need a PS5 by the time this launches.

Also Hivebusters was targeting 60FPS and this most likely 30FPS (for the quality mode).

For me the biggest problems for horizon, is the story, characters m, depth of world and activity variety.

The combat looks nice and responsive, but if I want to play a third person shooter gears and uncharted are better and if i want melee theres better stuff like gow, star wars FO and even soulsborne games. The horizon games remind me of assassin creed games, they look great but they are lacking for me in the story and gameplay department.
