Halo Infinite Tech Preview July 29th- Aug 1st

I like that the grappling has 3 uses, and that drop shield has 2. Seams perfect.I do have quite a bit constructive criticism but I still think they did a really good job here.

Home this gives them the confidence to lock down a release date.

Ok I feel like an idiot. How do you swap grenade types. D pad did nothing

Depends on your control scheme

Hope Spartan bots put up a better challenge. Boogeyman(30 kills straight). Loving the medal names. Loving this map too.

Thanks. I went back and checked. I got it now.

I thought the boys were supposed to get more difficult. Maybe it’s the more closed off map but I’m getting 3 or 4 more kills a match

Speaking of halo infinite overall impressions so far

Pros: Amazing gameplay it feels and runs fantastic

All the weapons have a purpose on the battlefield

Sprint isn’t as intrusive as it has been in the past

Powerups are as good as ever

Game looks stunning

The bots A.i actually put up a good fight at times

Music is absolutely amazing some tracks nearly brought me to tears feels like seeing an old friend but better than ever

Cons: when medals are displayed they are not as easy to see for my liking

Game has crashed a few times among other issues but hey that’s why it’s a Tech preview

To sum it up I’m completely all in on halo Infinite if I were to rate it as of now probably an 9 out of 10 so freaking amped for the full game

So got some games in and for the most part really enjoyed it. Still messing with the outlines as red and blue really throws it off when people have those armor colors. Yellow seems to be working well for the enemy.

Aim assist must be off for controllers which needs to be adjusted for release big time of they have cross play because assuming is so poorly done compared to any shooter on console. Pretty much just default to assault rifle and run in and try to get a punch which works against bots. But against other players when they are using mouse and keyboard it won’t be a contest.

The skewer is neat but losing sight of half the screen can be rough and the long reload really makes tough to use in these smaller maps. Be interesting to see how it fairs against vehicles and bigger maps.

The two maps are fun and recharge send to give more breathing room and less finish fight another one is right there. So nice to see there are good differences in the map sizes. Looking forward to seeing bazaar hopefully tomorrow.

And love the heatwave and watching those things bounce back from the wall behind the enemy is great. Cool new weapon to use (haven’t use the ravager much).

Ranked play is input based. Meaning controllers vs controllers. And keyboard n mouse vs keyboard n mouse. So I’m cool with low aim assist as long as it’s the same for everyone.

But big team battle isn’t ranked so aim assist needs to be better tuned for controller. Low aim assist isn’t going to keep people on the game. Creating for the pros won’t matter if everyone leaves due to the aim. Aim is a big part of gunplay and if it is worse than other shooters they won’t keep players.

I keep trying to play other games but Halo is all I can think about. I am not a huge Halo fan and never played much multiplayer and it has claws.

The gameplay is so good so addicting feels like Halo on steroids. Love the guns, the sounds the map and oh baby the Hammer! It’s Hammer time!!!

for the skewer, you can offset the weapon view in settings to get a bit more visibility.

LOL

Also,

Looks like this has great accessibility potential too

I think input-based matchmaking is being applied for all modes if I’m not misunderstanding, and not just ranked.

Even though this is just round one of the flighting, full of scaled down limitations of modes, assets and who you can fight, this test is immensley encouraging. What a solid base this multiplayer has, just on the gameplay and map qualities we’re seeing to start.

They really did it. They took different aspects of what varied players love about Halo, crafted a recipe from all those various purviews and made an amalgam that is truly special

It just feels like the quintesential Halo MP experience. And I’m so excited to see it fleshed out in to it’s full form

ODST bots dont feel easy to me. I find them fairly tough. I was afraid they would be easy after i read some comments. Those people are probably try hards who are good at PvP that shouldn’t be playing vs bots. I’m a casual and I like the difficulty of ODSTs here.

I will say though. That 2nd map they introduced. What a horrible map. As amazing as the 1st map is, the 2nd was the exact opposite for me.

This game is just so satisfying, and I wonder if we will get to test out vehicles soon. Also with the speed of this game BTB is going to be so much fun. Also I feel this game will have healthy staying power due to it being F2P MP.
