It appears that I got into the flighting but I never received a email. Double check on waypoint to see if you got in if you didn’t receive a email
I was hoping that the ranking system would be a little more inspiring Than halo 5’s. But so far it appears to have the same system. In one of the menu screens the UI let’s you click on ‘rank help’ and gives the info.
I liked halo 5’s rankings but I have issues with it for 2 reasons. When I play only with my friends there’s no way to determine who is the best. And when I play by myself I go up against squads and have teammates who are terrible.
Again I liked halo 5’s and I was onyx(champion a few times) every season but I felt better than onyx. Lots of champions hid behind playing with 3 good teammates. I was either soloing or playing with my friends who arnt great.
I just feel they played it safe their. I think they should have either gone with something similar to how apex(and gears 5 now) does it or kept it like 5 BUT THE WORST PERFORMER ON THE WINNING TEAM DOESNT GO UP, BEST PERFORMER ON LOOSING TEAM DOESNT GO DOWN.
Yes winning is the most important thing, but I feel individual performance should have 25% of the weight in your ranking. Either than or 2 separate ranks one for team performance and one for individual. Thoughts?
More constructive criticism.
Please don’t let us walk through our teammates in ranked. In ranked they need to turn on friendly fire, and have consistent weapon spawns. Not so much talking about the power weapons because it shows you before the match which weapons they have. I’m talking about the br/commando rack that changes game to game.
Also that’s a glitch for sure where you slide really fast by sliding when your falling.
I think people will have a bad time coming from COD or Battlefield… There are some high-skill ceiling weapons in there already.
For example, the bulldog is hard to use because of its spread and how you have to compensate its kickback. Same for the sidekick, it feels right as a finisher, not really as a primary weapon. The commando needs some time to adjust too : it’s definetely not a close range weapon, but medium to high. Also, the game is projectile based so you have to anticipate ennemy movements, something people have a hard time with.
Every weapon has its own design philosophy and purpose, unlike most FPS out there. “Halo is the sandbox, the sandbox is Halo”, as the devs said.
Though, I feel that the overall sensitivity needs ajustements. I’m at max setting (5 acceleration/10 sensitivity/all deadzones at 0) and it doesn’t feel quite right to me coming from DOOM Eternal or MW. It still too hard to track targets, but maybe that’s on purpose, Idk.
I feel like MCC, with its modern settings, controlled a bit better than Infinite, but I’m not sure why exactly.
I was just in the performance thread asking if there’s also a 60fps mode.
But it seems there actually is, a quality mode? Is the difference really noticeable would you say? This is exactly what I was hoping for because 120fps for me really isn’t a necessity, especially if visuals get sacrificed for it somewhat. 60fps is the sweet spot for me.
I am guessing campaign will be 60fps too, maybe a option for 120, but probably not.
So I still suck at Halo, who had thought
Had some stutters in Academy at the start of the shooting range and enemies stuttered in their running animation from left to right. Looked strange.
First few matches against Marine bots everything was buttery smooth on Series X and played fine. I was a bit rusty but we won all matches easily. The last match on a new map was a bit more closer. I heard they activated harder bots later in the day. Was it this? Anyway, these harder bots still fall like flies if you smack them really hard with a gravity hammer. So my tip is do that!
Seems like this can be a lot of fun!
So yeah, the grappling hook is in. It’s on the new map they added right now and it’s awesome. I thought it wouldn’t be in the tech test, but I was wrong !
Edit : You can use it 3 times on pick up and there’s a tiny yellow symbol right at the center of your crosshair that tells you if you can use the grappling hook on the surface your looking at.
Bots still terrible 50-5 first game and 50-10 in second. Wtf
Shit…
I don’t know if it’s me, but I feel Halo is the only game where I can’t use left trigger to zoom and need to click on right stick to zoom
First map was very small, not a lot going on. Only a couple of clear paths. Had the map down in 2 minutes.
Second map is much bigger, more intricate. Will take a few matches to get a real good feel for it. I like it though.
One thing I’m digging is that they arnt overloading the maps with power weapons. I hated when there was 4-6 power weapons on 8 player matches. 1-2 is perfect. Also not putting too much ammo in the power weapons, which is a right call I think.
I do want to see the competitive settings vs the casual match settings. There’s a few things I don’t like but I’m hopeful they are for the casual player.
I think 343 did really good here. If they can get some of these small things right for competitive, and have a good map variety then I think they are gunna hit it out of the park for arena.
Sorry for the potato photo, but I wanna know what the Stalker is
Probs a banished / covenant sniper like beam rifle
I want to know why keyboard gets button binding but controller doesn’t.
Edit- yes it does have button mapping for controller.
Holy crap does this game feel good. Best combo of shooting and movememt I can remember in a Halo MP
wow this game feels so good like this what I’ve been missing. I was getting a bit bored of every game having a BR or super large maps and missed having good arena action.
Yeah I’m back to playing it, too fun.
