Yeah. He’s not even a “reviewer” reviewer in that sense but still he puts together these in a really entertaining way lol.
Thats most probably why his reviews actually make sense to me when I play the game .

I’ve watched a few reviews, IGN, Colteastwood, Dealer gaming and Penguinz0, about to watch the MrMattyPlaysReview.
So far the impressions I’m getting is leaving me disappointed. I feel like all the gameplay I’ve watched hasn’t had enough variety in biomes and spaces. I need to give this game a go but my impressions so far are just positive. Not great, not fantastic, just positive.
For those that read several reviews, is anything said about what MauroNL said? Last week he tweeted that he had spoken to reviewers via PM and he was told a lot of stuff was being kept in the dark, great things.
Without telling me these things, do the reviews talk about this and does it sound good?
A week is pretty standard. I got the code Monday, played it Monday and finished it Tuesday night, wrote the review tuesday night then edited/narrated/video edited the review on Wednesday. No clue how their video took 3 full days to edit when I did the entire review process in that time, but I’m a one man team.

I’m convinced that Gertsmann doesn’t actually like videogames anymore but simply doesn’t know what else to do.

He has definitely become more than a little jaded lol. But to be fair to him, he has been doing this for 25 years.
I was done by Wednesday night after uploading the 2nd version of the review (changed some music, added titles, fixed up timing).
His review was mostly his lamenting how quickly “games journalism” was leapfrogged in importance by kids in their living rooms streaming on twitch and youtube. The truth is that games journalism is tiny in comparison to even a single big streamer. XQC reaches as many people each week as half the gaming journalism industry combined at this point.

I’d imagine we’ll give it a few weeks so as many people as possible can get through it.

They said it would come at the start of the new season. Was a while ago though.

Earlier when they did the delay announcements, but it wasn’t in time, it was said after X season(s) or X+1 season(s). From there folks translated that to months.
I have not seen an updated timeline after they expanded season 1.
Didn’t they specifically say co op in 3 months? and Forge in 6?
Noticed these trends too.
Yes, but they delayed it again. Now it’s 6 months from now for coop and even later for Forge. It is what it is.
I honestly think that right now it’s “lets give ourself time and if it’s ready early it’s ready, but we won’t date it yet” as their line of though.
