Good looking trailer. Probably won’t buy the game, since GTA has been boring to me for more than a decade now, but I’m excited for the people who do love GTA.
Ah thanks I missed that, presumably if PS has the marketing rights (which was the rumour on X) it would have just said PS.

I’m not sure there’s much more tiresome in gaming than GTA hype. That’s not the ‘fault’ of the game, more how everyone seems to lose their minds about view counts and shit. Yes, it’s very popular. We know this. This hype culture is so, so dull. It’s exclusionary, myopic, dull.
The games play poorly, imo, even as they are superlative achievements in technical senses, and ferociously ambitious. They’d have to change a lot. RDR2 at the least had a setting I preferred for ambience, was gorgeous.

Watch the leaked gameplay footage of last year to see it. It still has the weight to the character but it seems it might be a little less sluggish. Personally it’s never been an issue for me, I really appreciate how there’s actual weight to movement, whereas in some other games it’s almost as if you’re sliding on the ground.
I do wonder who has the marketing. But I don’t recall the first V trailer having platforms, but Sony did have the marketing.
Their mission structure especially is outdated, it really needs an overhaul and I hope so much this is that. I adore RDR2 but its weakest aspect is the minimal player freedom in the missions. More can be done here I’m sure.

It looks amazing, as expected really. A shame we have to wait until 2025 but you can’t rush Art I suppose. At least we’re going to have lots of great games to tide us over next year as well.

… that’s so far out. So Christmas 2025 and (likely) delayed to spring 2026?
Anyway new trailer is cool. GTAV is the best game ever made. Rockstar is annoying and slow, but this will no doubt be awesome. Characters didn’t grab me, but Rockstars reputation precedes itself.

Gave a deeper look at the trailer and man the skin shading is insanely good in all the varied tones, on just about every npc on screen and even at distance.

I did like that there was lots of variation in things like skin tone and even cut of clothing, since it looks to have a lot of people in the game I’m glad they don’t all look the same.

They’ve definitely nailed the vibe of South Beach. I went a couple of times for the Winter Music Conference, and the 2nd time overlapped with Spring Break and it was almost as raucous as depicted in the trailer. Twerking wasn’t a thing back then, but you’d see the hotties & muscleheads poking out from the sunroof, flexing at pedestrians

The online aspect of it is kinda scary to imagine lol.
The scale is going to be nuts.
I remember when critics called GTAV too on the nose or overly satirical, since then we’ve seen the real world behave astronomically more comical than GTA could ever satirize.

If that was actually new video footage, it wouldn’t surprise me if it was inspired by the GTA 6 trailer. There have been many times where art imitates life inspires life to imitate art.
