Seems to heavily favor xbox but I guess having all those games for N64 for back compat is worth it for them

People truly excited for this? Even if it has higher resolution, which it really should at in the least it doesn’t change thet the game in my opinion really has not aged well.

I played the 360 remaster last year when it leaked. Still plays great even more so because its fluid and doesn’t stutter in 17fps anymore.

If you liked Perfect Dark on 360 and thought it aged well (it did) you will also like this one.

The only thing in common between both games is the title. I can’t consider this a remake as I don’t consider Tomb Raider 2013 or Hitman 2016.

Remakes are games based on the original game built from ground up, remasters work with the original source code and assets to bring the game to new tech. At least this is how I name them and how the industry does before video games were a thing.

You’re right. It was a lot easier to determine which is a remaster, remake, or reboot. Resident Evil Remake was my first remake experience, so it was a lot easier to call it which. Then you have a game that is like remaster that is practically the same like Uncharted. Then you have a steroid remaster or as some would call it remake, like Demon’s Soul. I know there’s a graph on which game call it what, so I’ll have to get used to it.

So now it’s supposed to be remastered only for Xbox/PC while N64 is for Switch? Sounds right, though it would be Sony-ish for Xbox to pull a stunt where Nintendo Direct announces it and then at Xbox Wire, an article would state, “Yes, the old classic is back, now in remastered form and it’s available on Game Pass now!” It’s kind of sabotaging, isn’t it?

This is what I think too and the release will have nothing to do with the N64 app (it will be an eShop game)

I’ve seen people point out that Banjo is coming to the app in it’s N64 form rather than to the eShop in it’s 360 remaster form, but this is a different situation. Goldeneye remaster is a new title coming out for multiple platforms, it’s being developed right now and they can easily add a Switch version to that development. The Banjo remaster has already been out on Xbox for a long time so it’s not something that’s being actively worked on like how this is.

Yeah to me it would be odd for Nintendo to just be happy with the 64 port while xbox gets the new fancy remaster

At the time I was told, NSO wasn’t officially a thing yet. I was told this port will be on Switch and Xbox.

So my assumption is Switch will get the port as well as the N64 game on NSO.
