Meanwhile PS5 has a resolution problem…

I won’t call it a resolution problem. Its more of a fact.

Showdowns at DF drive the overwhelming amount of clicks. They even mislabel video titles to sound like they are showdowns b/t XSX/PS5 when they aren’t…

If it keeps happening that suggests it isn’t the res causing the issue. Likely still the CPU issues that were rumored due to immature GDK tools.

This. Also worth noting that in some cases the difference is basically immaterial like Division 2 having 40 frames with drop of a sample of 20k frames on SX and ps5 having 0. Or in Hitman 3 where a single scenario, in a single area and only when using a single weapon that would see drops on SX.

another win for series x. that’s quite the resolution gap. drops to 55fps seems like they can be easily fixed.

Im a massive Xbox fan and I have a VRR TV and I wouldn’t chalk it up to a win until the game is running at a near perfect 60 FPS.

Deffo has the better resolution and some extra effects which is so good to see, but I want that framerate. It should be able to handle it.

Hopefully its fixed in the full game.

A drop from 60 to 55fps is certainly a lot better than last gen when games would drop from 30 to 25 or lower.

It does should be near locked given what’s going on, but with VRR it is a perfect framerate already. That’s the thing VRR does :stuck_out_tongue:

Yakuza LAD is out for PS5 apparently, should be interesting to see how that stacks up against XSX. I think we have to keep in mind that LAD released when XSX was still having some issues. But I have no idea if the developers of LAD had any of that at all.

Xbox games more and more running worse. Disgusting.

This is not true

No. Hitman 3, Control, Marvel’s Avengers, Outriders…

I have both a Series X and PS5, so I decided to play some of this Outriders demo on both last night due to the discussion on here. Of course I don’t have any professional tools or anything, but here are my basic observations.

  • It does look sharper to me on the Series X on my 65" 4K TV that I probably sit too close to
  • For whatever reason (have noticed this on some other games on PS5) the game is a little darker/more saturated on the PS5 than the Series X on my TV with the same exact settings. I prefer the Series X look on my setup.
  • Game plays great on both to me, and I didn’t notice any major frame issues. One gameplay thing that was annoying to me on the PS5 is that I kept accidentally hitting the stupid touch pad during a frantic fight which brought up the menu, but that is just because Xbox is my primary where I don’t deal with that.

The most important thing for me as noted in another thread is that I spent my Friday night playing through the full demo on my Series X, and this game is freaking fun! I played as a Pyromancer class, and the frantic gunplay at times combined with me using my various “burn” abilities to damage enemies and regain health even when down to a sliver of it was awesome. I even love quality of life things such as the “tracer” type trail when you push up on the D-pad to literally show me the way to my next objective because frankly I get annoyed and lost sometimes even working my way around the “hub” area of games. I am pretty sure that this is one that I will be buying now and playing co-op a lot.

I believe the ps5 hdr crushes blacks.

Yeah, we often hear about framerate being in the closing stages of optimisation. I’m hoping this is the case here. It would be very nice to have all these extra positives, effects etc and an almost rock solid 60 FPS.

There seems to be some issues with AF on the xbox version over PS5 too, so hopefully they manage to bump that up.

55 fps is suddenly unplayable for a demo lol. you guys got to stop overrreacting.

Forza Horizon 4 just got a 7GB update and I think they fixed everything DF complained about. Other cars definitely cast shadows now at night. Don’t know about ambient occlusion because I’m to stupid to see it.

oh shit really

Sorry my bad, just started a race and cars don’t cast shadows. But in the open world they do. Sorry for the confusion
