Games Analysis |OT| Time To Argue About Pixels And Frames!

Well if we confirmation on the stutters being fixed, and going by the RTX video by DF, then by all means if you feel comfortable.

It was actually a tweet by Thomas @ Remedy

Less does not equal none.

Gonna need to see more proof sorry.

It’s here!

Xbox has a framerate problem :person_facepalming:

The drops seem minor compared to the difference in resolution. Also no flag physics on PS5 for whatever reason.

Its so funny to me that we are doing showdowns on demos now

I know that VRR shouldn’t be relied on as a ā€œcrutchā€ or anything, but VRR on my 4K TV makes any minor frame rate drops on games a complete non-issue. So I will take the better resolution here for my game experience

They needed content and there’s not alot out there right now so they have to compare DEMOS.

It’s ranging from 55 to 60 in this video, not good but not the end of the world. And VRR cleans that up completely.

Though the base resolution being so higher than Ps5 I don’t see they having any troubles hitting both a higher framerate and a framerate just as if not more stable in the final version

There’s already gonna be a day-1 patch, best to just ignore a DEMO comparison, and wait for final builds.

We’ve got Bethesda to focus on today.

Not doubting series X or series S here.

My concern is regarding optimization. Why devs doesn’t look after the frames on Series consoles? One game after the other has this kind of problem here and there.

I believe devs or studios in general give less time or man power to Xbox version when compared to PS.

So far bethasda is only giving us a ā€˜waiting game’ all the games are going to PS right nowšŸ˜…

The game isn’t final yet. But it could depend a lot on the tools too. GDK profilers may not be as good yet to analyze performance (was the case of the leaked June 2020 release, where you couldn’t even analyze performance on SS mode).

But I doubt it will take long for the devs to sort out SX/SS framerate in this game. If not by launch, close to it

I think they just need to adjust DRS. Worked well for ac:v

Or maybe tools are the reason afterall.

There’s also the case the devkits are slightly more performant than the final console (by around 10% which in the case of SX seems to be in the range of fps drops we are seeing). So perhaps even that was the reason DRS is a bit less aggressive.

The Series X does not have a framerate problem per se. Like with many other games, the Series X is rendering at a (significantly) higher resolution, so it is more susceptible to frame drops. If the Series X locked its resolution at 1800p it would probably be a locked 60fps.

The Series X is rendering a total of 7,750,656 pixels, while the PS5 is rendering a total of 5,760,000 pixels.

Is this demo fully updated game code? Or is it like the ffvx demo that was not final game code?

They already have a day 1 patch coming

This keeps happening. Higher res on Series X vs better frame rate on PS5.

The devs should lower res on Xbox.

I didn’t say series X has the problem. It’s more like DRS is adjusted too high. But it is consistently happening on Xbox consoles, hence it is more of a Xbox problem per say. (Not the hardware but the way studios prioritise the game development of xbox consoles)
