Its okay to admit you dont know what you are talking about and refrain from engaging. You should consider it.
A very condescending reply
I think Switch 2 does feel like a Switch Pro in the sense we have the same OS as before, games that were previously released run better, and overall we are not getting as big of a gen leap as before⌠kinda like we got with Series X when the gen started and people thought it wasnât a real next gen experience because it had the same menus as Xbox One and lots of cross gen titles.
In the end gaming platforms are adopting more and more the phone model with incremental hardware releases and thatâs fine. Costs have exploded, both in terms of hardware and software, and so we canât really expect huge gains over time.
I already see people online complaining at the rumored Xbox Ally X price of 800-900$ even though it has much more better specs than a Switch 2 and is similarly priced to other handhelds. But in the end I wouldnât be surprised if the upcoming PS5 portable (or PS6) is very similar in price to be honest. Costs have skyrocketed and this is what the hardware makers have to deal with. Makes me a very happy camper that Gamepass is saving my wallet!
As for those questions from DF patreons, this is actually disgusting that Richard is even answering them on video. This is a new low, really losing my trust here.
I agree, what a great post.
DF have hit a new low For Alex to laugh out loud, wishing Xbox fans would turn to dust was a new low even for him. It is clear to the whole world that Black Myth Wukong was time time-limited deal by SONY.
For DF not to even cover Keeper or Clockwork Revolution in their Xbox reactions shows what a biased outfit they have now become, not helped with IGN. Had SONY been showing Keeper or Clockwork Revolution, John would have banged on about how wonderful SONY studios are and the diversity in their output
Agreed. Iâve tended to give them a break in the past, but giving blatant console warriors the time of day like that without any pushback, is just stupidity and undoes any of the good work they do.
I get that these are questions from Patreons and theyâre probably obligated in some form to air them, but they should take a leaf out of how Kinda Funny does it. Read the question, then put them on blast immediately.
Clockwork looks so freakin good as well seriously, wouldnât be surprised if it surprises people enough next year for a game of the year nomination. Itâs now at the top of my list personally.
Same with Keeper this year, Double fine is a beloved dev and to not even acknowledge them; are you even a gaming outlet at this point?
True I guess about them being paid question from members, but still, show some decency and put them on blast like you said. Just say this wonât be tolerated in the future or else theyâll just keep getting more of this.
Spot on boss
You just know had Clockwork been coming from one of SONY studios, DF and especially John, would have been raving about it
Itâs so sad whatâs happened to DF
As always when it comes calibrations, personal taste in what the image should look like matters. But this video goes into the how to of the calibration and how one setting changes the other.
This is why I donât care for Tomâs videos. He spends the first half of the video talking about how resolution is so much worse on Series S than the other consoles, making it sound like Series S is the problem. Then, almost as an afterthought, Oh yeah, also, the game is an unacceptably shitty mess on all consoles including PS5 Pro. Nothing he says in the video is technically incorrect, but once again the focus and tone is, Letâs trash Series S and downplay anything else that might be a problem, including the game itself.
If Switch 2 had been a platform for the game too, I wonder, would he be covering that for a change or once again the S? Yeah, I know the answer already.
Thatâll be interesting, when the Series S version of a multiplat game isnât the worst performing current-gen version. We know theyâll grade Nintendo on a curve though.
Does anyone take DF seriously these days ?
Just speaking for myself, I still enjoy DF a lot overall despite sometimes getting annoyed when they play favorites.
Nope
Still not that impressed with the Switch 2 it just comes across as little more than a Pro model
I love mine, and honestly it feels most like the jump from Xbox One gen to Series where your stuff and the console OS overall just runs much better. It doesnât feel ââNext Genââ I guess like all the people shitting on Xbox back then because it didnât a shiny new HDR menu like on PS5, but in the end I think thatâs a good thing as the iterative consoles imo are a much better idea, and thatâs exactly what the Switch 2 feels like.
Monitors Unboxed did some testing for the Switch 2 screen, but so far, no games make use of the 120hz mode so they couldnât test it.
Thats not entirely true. Welcome Tour has a mini game that uses 120hz.
How valuable it would be for their testing, I dont know.
