Games Analysis |OT| Time To Argue About Pixels And Frames!

Probably because it’s pretty close to the truth. MS helped with getting the game on Xbox and I don’t think DF were suggesting they were paid more that the existing deal probably meant MS were more closely tied in.

We’ve all heard rumours that the MS ATG were helping and I doubt they helped with the PS5 port…not sure there is any need to be sensitive about it. We all know that the PS5 version of this game is not representative of the PS5 as a machine. It’s just gimped because many parts of it are base PS4 since that’s the way some of the PS5 BC works and also because CDPR are launching this on so many platforms simultaneously.

That’s the last thing I would expect from DF. And it’s even logic and common sense that XSX is taking the lead here because of the One X-Pro difference.

Digital Foundry where frame drops on ps5 are passable but on Series X not.

Guuuys…

This is what it takes when you allow that the weaker hw outperfoms you out of the gate. These first batch of games let a lot of ppl drinking PS5 secret sauce kool-aid. Everytime SX has an edge on something the MS paid devs to this and that argument will appear from now on, even tho it is logical that SX outperforms Ps5 in virtually everything, except load times. The more time MS takes to fix SX perf issues, the more deep these nonsense rumors will get. Who conducted the faceoff anyways?

I don’t know what happened to DF lately but I came for the technical stuff, left because of the weird takes and opinions. If they make up shit like this, why should I put any stock in their tech-stuff? Another media site down the shitter.

That’s so damn true. I see it in AC Valhalla too, at times it can look really damn good and other times not so much. Sometimes the lighting can make faces in cutscenes look horrible, other times really good.

But in that Cyberpunk picture it seemed image clarity had taken a huge hit too.

That’s a bad look for DF.

It’s doing them and nobody any favors.

We’ve seen first hand here on XboxERA have fast inflammatory statements can travel and the impact they can have. I mean shit, people already thought that Microsoft paid Ubisoft to nerf the PS5 version of AC:V after the first patch.

No you are mixing 2 things together. What they are alluding to is that for them the narrative is that MS would have payed directly CDPR to make xsx version better by adding more crowd (and by extent gimping the ps5 version on purpose) and yes I know about BC. I speak only about the comment here.

The other rumour is MS sending their own technical team Advanced Technology Group to help optimize performance on games. Why would they help PS5 if they are MS team.

Such comment from DF has not its place in a technical analysis where they are stating facts. Now it is not facts but bs narrative to fuel the fire of console warriors bs.

PS: Also please keep the advice for yourself firstly I don’t need anyone to tell me how to feel about anything. Thanks

And secondly I’m not sensitive I’m just stating facts from what I hear, their own useless words in such a video by the same guys criticizing the console war…How ironic it is.

Valhalla is essentially impossible to get exact like-for-like comparisons because even when you can match the time of day, you get completely different lighting because of the dynamic cloud cover. I assume Cyberpunk is similar.

How come every time Xbox performs better, it’s because they might have paid the devs to make it better on their platform? I don’t understand how some people actually believe this stupidity. And I don’t see anyone saying that Sony paid the devs to make games better on PlayStation…

Dont see anybody complaining that some games last gen were capped to not have an advantage on xbox.

He likely didn’t mean it like ppl are taking it. He probably just meant that MS worked with them to make the game run as well as they could given the various hurdles in the way.

Some need to perpetuate the narrative that the Xbox Series X is only more powerful on paper.

Then say that instead of insinuating the contrary.

Or people need to stop drinking the sony kool-aid

Yeah, there is no doubt that at the very least oportunity ppl will jump on Sony kool-aid without thinking, but MS urges to fix it, it is on them as well, it is a big time screw up on them, imo.

I don’t think they are suggesting anything outlandish, it’s obvious MS helped CDPR to do more with Xbox. This is something that MS have made a point of doing since early Xbox One days and is a boon, especially right now when the tools aren’t being fully utilized/optimised by developers

Its still where games (and cgi) have a long way to go, shaders for direct sunlight still look quite unrealistic.

The top imagine is a night time shot, cgi and video games are a lot better when theres shadows involved.

The 2nd pic is in daylight, while its good cgi compared to how human skin looks the people that make skin shaders still have a lot of work to do.
