I’m not going to accuse DF of any bias, but I would say I find it rather disappointing that they aren’t covering both platforms equally.

No I mean it doesn’t exist at all, no one covered the game until DF did this one currently, also making it the only Playstation one as well. Beyond just scene comparisons.
IIRC, the reasoning they gave for moving away from resolution is something along the lines of “there are so many variables that affect image quality outside of just resolution that it isn’t the best metric to convey ‘looks better’”
I don’t know enough about this stuff to say that that’s a legitimate excuse but I believe that they do. I understand being annoyed that the Xbox Series consoles aren’t as well-represented when it comes to this type of thing; I find it irritating too! But to twist yourself into assuming that it’s a conspiracy to keep Xbox down or whatever is more than a little worrying.
If you have frequent thoughts about feeling persecuted, keep Hanlon’s Razor in mind. I think a much milder application is what works here: “Never attribute to malice that which is adequately explained by [just not having enough dang hours in the day]”

I don’t think they have anything against Xbox, but they surely are catering to one audience more. I’ve notived the patterns long ago, stopped looking into their videos for some time now.
I remember how big deal it was when the consoles just launched and Xbox had tools issues.
Which make sense as Playstation generates a lot of clicks.
Yeah sure, it’s their channel, they should pursue whatever they need to.
I just have no reason to watch them anymore.

They are not wrong. Resolution is less important than 10 years ago. There are better AA techniques available today which make counting geometry resolution pretty hard. On top of that you have dynamic resolution scaling.
If a game has lower resolution today you see less jaggies like it was 2010, the image is just a bit softer. Its only on the Switch where lower resolution is really noticable because there is often no anti aliasing present whatsoever.
I’m also under the impression that the guys at DF are a little bit over this whole console war stuff. They enjoy retro stuff, podcast, fundamental technical analysis of games and PC stuff way more. Which is fine.
Cut it with the biased nonsense talk. Star Wars was covered by the newest member, so what’s the claim here, now he’s biased too? He literally points out a scene where the SX was pushing out twice the pixels. I also don’t recall a video where they don’t cover resolutions, so I’m not sure where the idea they are ignoring or not presenting resolution counts is coming from. The problem isn’t they don’t present the facts, because they do. The issue is they don’t make a big deal about their findings like some of you would like and you can keep that console warring bullshit out of these forums. I’m tired of this nonsense. Talk about the tech, talk about the findings, but leave the attacks against the people out of this thread. This is the final warning.

When one of the biggest platforms is completely omitted from console comparisons, I don’t see why it’s a problem for users to complain about such, or why assumptions of bias aren’t the natural response. No one is name calling, no one is dogpiling, I’m just seeing comments basically stating that they’ll seek information elsewhere.

As BRiT pointed out, this is more of a PC comparison and what that platform brings to the table with RT, instead of a console comparison. I also find it laughable that anyone would claim Alex is biased towards Sony when he’s a PC gamer through and through, not giving one shit about this stupid console war. I’m sure no one is making any claims of bias when he uses the SX version to compare to the PC. I also don’t care if someone doesn’t watch them or prefers to watch another channel, that’s the beauty of having choices. In fact I welcome people to bring others technical videos or articles they prefer to the thread.
My post was clearly directed towards the “Sony Foundry”, and false claims made here, all used as an excuse to attack the content creators. It’s inappropriate and clearly against our stance of going after the people instead of discussing the content, as it’s been discussed time and time again.
