Hey thanks! I actually tested the game out the next day and was running at a locked 60fps at 1440p and ultra settings. So I think the fact that I was using the nvenc encoder to handle the stream was causing issues on the GPU side. Next time I stream from my PC, I’m going to try the software encoder since I should have the overhead with a 16 core CPU. Still interested in the video though!
16 cores high powered vs “Godknowshowmany” shader cores low powered
That is the graph for the VRM, not the chip. Also, heat is not synonymous with temps btw. Not being pedantic. They are physically entirely different things.
I see now, thanks. It’s interesting, the mosfet and memory look to be better, or worse the same on the new cooler, but the SOC is a few degrees hotter. This actually seems to be ideal of the two setups because the SOC temps are more than fine, low 70s is far below the heat threshold of what these chips can handle for years and years. However the memory temps are a bit on the high side, so any improvements there should be a good thing, even though they can still get a bit too high as seen with the memory module 3. In the end, it kind of looks to be a wash and thankfully not something to be concerned about on new units.
Where is the psychonauts 2 video?
If you copy and paste all these ps5 features you wouldn’t be able to tell of what game they are for.
DF be like we will just let that one slide.
These kinda posts are getting embarrassing. It’s a Switch game that runs rly rly well for a Switch game. Switch owners have reason to watch.
Reminder: DF covers tech, not general game coverage. If there are technical aspects of a game that standout, good or bad, they cover it regardless of the platform. If there are not tech aspects taht are worth mentioning, they don’t.

An interesting tidbit from this (around the 10 minute mark) is that the stuttering in Control UE has been fixed and that Little Nightmares 2 now has RT on Xbox, and Richard specifically says that Control UE is now better on Series X than on PS5, and that they sort of regret leaving their previous videos as the only “record” of the status of the game. Hopefully they’ll put out another video at some point that helps to clarify any games that may have received performance updates (on any platform) but I understand what I’m asking is complicated and may not be worth their time or effort.
Nice, thanks for pointing this out! I was wondering when it would be fixed. Faster than I had hoped
Could they do an annotation or something on that video? I think I’ve seen that on youtube videos before, like a text overlay.
Hmmm…with Little Nightmares 2 now in the sale…I might do this.
On the other hand, I have SO many games yet to play in the backlog and I can’t help but feel this could hit Game Pass.
Are we already seeing the diminishing returns of PS5 SSD?
More like the results of insiders/gamers/press overhyping the only spec where the console out choice was ahead as the one spec that would made all the difference. Which was obviously going to fall flat
I mean it was always an overhyped marketing bullet point, Sony excels at those.
That along with 3D audio like it hasnt been a thing in forever.
I mean what’s the point of so much SSD hype when even this “slow” SSD can perfectly run R&C Rift Apart?
I mean, developers can always prove me wrong, but I have always felt the speed of the PS5 SSD is way overblown for the amount of RAM in the PS5.
I cannot think of many useful scenarios where developers need to completely dump the contents of the RAM and fill it up in 2/3 seconds. The speed that Xbox went with seems to me to be a lot more appropriate.
