Certainly hope so.

I’m in love with the look of this little beast <3

they had their best devkits early than other devs. i want to see ori benchemak because it’s running on XDX and not GDK i want to see if it have the same problems as GDK ports games

I saw that DF had their new video online and immediately thought…here we go. But it seems it’s actually good news. I honestly did not expect that. Not after some examples like Dirt 5 (although they are working on it) and Observer (small studio, still PS5 has RT) and of course Ubi.

Treyarch is a big structure with experience on optimization. They find a way to manage the problems with actual devkit and give evidence that things will improve dramatically.

John said it : tools, and here is the proof of this.

And what did we learn over the past week or so everyone?

UBISOFT games are not the metric to judge an entire hardware generation.

Well well well - looks like wide and slow beats narrow and fast for RT. Those 52 compute units and DXR doing some work.

And at least the S is hitting 1440p dynamic.

So in this case it’s performance issues with 120fps mode, but in AC it was things like a lower resolution drop here and there. Is that all GDK issues?

what do you think ? screen tearing is on all xbox consoles from old gen to next gen…lol they didn’t care to fix that before launch

I’m glad as hell that my TV has VRR because I fucking hate screen tearing. I actually had it on day one of XSX, because I had not yet enabled VRR and 120hz. I immediately quit the game and enabled that stuff, haha.

Can’t be sure right now. Later, maybe an update for AC Valhalla will fix those issues or maybe Ubisoft engine struggle at the moment on Xbox or maybe there is indeed a bottleneck somewhere on Xbox, can’t say.

So really, if you don’t have a 120hz TV and don’t care about DuelSense, then the Series X version is the one to get.

But if it was a bottleneck wouldn’t that mean Treyarch would have stumbled upon that too? Hmmm, yeah we’ll just have to wait and see.

I haven’t bought CoD myself yet. 8 maps is just not that much and the SP is rather short from what I’ve heard. Plus I’m in AC Valhalla and soon Cyberpunk.

But it’s good to see this!

It’s not a CPU issue I’m certain of that. In fact I doubt it’s an issue at all in this case. Probably just slightly higher res in those scenes on Xbox and the dynamic resolution needs to be a little more aggressive.

Suspect it’s simply a little case of tuning. Frankly the game is running well on series x compared to other launch efforts. Really well.

The resolution on a 10+ year old game being too taxing? I doubt that’s the case.

Overall, I think it’s the first game that ā€œrun bestā€ on Xbox Series X. Treyarch sure have worked a lot to reach those performances on both consoles, impressive.

I meant COD. But whatever…

I wonder if on PS5 era there are posters having meltdowns about a 33% Xbox advantage and demanding Sony speak on this??..

The XSS issues would likely also be tied to GDK’s missing features/functionality. Until that matures, devs in a few games will have to toggle some RT or reduce other settings.

Let’s hope that holds true. With MS touting it as the lower res / same feature set option, I hope they had test cases to back that up.

Let me see how Gears 5 runs on it, actually.
