I agree with this but I do see the second half of the year being much bigger than the first half even if Final Fantasy VII Remake was added to Game Pass in the first half of this year. We’ll see what happens though. It’s Square Enix so who knows what they’re doing. lol.
It would be a big get for game pass, but if it comes to Xbox I’m guessing it won’t be on GP. It’s not a Dragon Quest situation where the game has no presence on the platform. It’s a well known and beloved title. Hope I’m wrong though!

There’s still part 2 and probably part 3 to come so Square would most likely want to get people excited about the game enough to buy part 2 down the line.
Is that a fact though? Do we know for a fact that this is part of the deal, them not allowed to mention other platforms at all? Because Rise of the Tomb Raider was announced for PS4 way before the one year exclusivity ended.
Really hope as soon as the exclusivity for this ends that they’ll announce it for Xbox. But I can see them waiting for their summer show too and announce it there, bigger impact. Most of all let’s just hope it happens at all.

ROTR is an special case because everyone was shitting on SE and Microsoft and Microsoft themselves probably thought it would be bad for PR not to talk about a PS version. That’s not the case with FF since 80% of fans play it on PS, therefore there is no need to talk about the PC and Xbox versions until the timed exclusivity period ends.

Feels like there’s a fair amount ot Final Fantasy fans on XboxERA. It’ll be fun to have a thread discussing this game if it does come to Xbox.
Kinda different in that RotTR is a sequel to a multi-platform game where all versions were released at the same time, it was expected there was a PS4 version until Xbox and SE made a deal.
I very much doubt this will launch on Game Pass, as the other games that have are either pretty old, or, as in FF XV’s case, been available to buy 3 years prior.
Oh I don’t mind it if it doesn’t launch on GP, I’ll buy it for sure.
Not sure if I’d buy it until we get a more concrete time frame as to when they expect to have them finished and released. I really don’t want to reach a cliffhanger ending and have to wait 2-3 years more to continue with the story, I’d prefer to wait until all entries are out than go through that.
Hard pass for me. I own the original on xbox and switch. Never supporting timed exclusives.

Could announce PS5/PC/Xbox. Additional content is a weird word choice though.
From recent leaks it looks like it’s PC/PS5 only no Xbox
I think Sony extended the contract to include both PS4/PS5 so it’ll be another year.
I would honestly expect it on GamePass in late 2022 when FFVIIR Part II comes out.
Honestly, Square sees how much they get from GamePass, so they’d be bad at business to not accept the exclusivity money first then the GamePass money at a later date.
Knowing our luck then we have to wait another 2 years for part 2
