DC and Marvel multimedia thread (movies, games, TV shows etc)

That might be genius if they could do it.

From what I’ve read about it , it neither has the things marvel fans like ( except the brand ) nor what ā€œcinemaā€ people like . Hence the rating .

Back-forthing timelines while trying to explain the backstory of the avenger-lite main characters and cramming all demographic/myth in a single movie. What could go wrong? (unless you’re one of IW/Endgame directors, it is gonna messy for sure)

There was so much talk about Zhao and this movie from Feige and others.

Would be still interested in checking out the Celestial lore.

Reading some classic Hulk comics (by way of a Silver Surfer trade) I’m surprised just how suicidal the guy is. I know Bruce Banner was, at least initially, pretty upset to be this rampaging monster, but in the issue I’m reading (Tales to Astonish #92) a plan Banner has to stop him turning into Hulk fails and he ā€œIf only the shock had finished me, I’d have been better off!ā€

It obviously makes for a very powerful moment and shows the absolute turmoil he’s going through, but wow. Certainly wouldn’t see that in modern Marvel (I’d expect, can’t say first hand) or in any of the films.

Looks like there will be quite some comedy in this

I don’t know the slightest thing about the character except for his presence in the MCU. So will this be his origin story or like after Endgame?

After Endgame. If there is one comic series I would recommend to everyone in the world, it’s the one this is based off of. Hawkeye by Matt Fraction. And it’s not that long. If you get time, use a free trial to Marvel Unlimited and check it out.

Interesting. But shouldn’t I watch the show first, wouldn’t I be kinda spoiling the show if I read the comic now?

I doubt it. Even when Marvel makes something based off a specific comic storyline, it’s only in broad strokes. For example, the comics version of Hawkeye doesn’t have a family.

Basically: A secret holy-than-thou hero society called The Illuminati jettison Hulk into space because he became ā€˜too dangerous’. Their plan was to send him to an uninhabitable planet but, instead, he accidentally lands on Sakaar and is forced to become a gladiator. Through many trials & tribulations, Banner & Hulk finally decide to work together (instead of one being the dominant personality). They overthrow the ruler of the planet, free all of the people, and become a benevolent king… Then some stuff happens.

All in all, it was meant to be a major turning point in Banner & Hulk’s position in the Marvel Universe that was meant to question what made someone a monster… And it was (mostly) played for laughs and completely squandered in Ragnarok.

Completely agree. Out of the ā€œbig 4ā€ original avengers, Hulk has definitely gotten the short end of the stick - and Planet Hulk, one of his best story arcs, was largely wasted.

I had basically given up hope that World War Hulk would ever make it to the screen, but the rumor mill says production is gearing up on that very story. I really hope they can do it justice.

Now watching Avengers, yesterday Thor and I like how these movies just stay very, very entertaining. I applaud Marvel for this.

Honestly the MCU is just great, they’ve been able to entertain us so much ever since 2008 really. With probably only Captain Marvel being the big MEH one, the rest I find highly enjoyable. Hope it continues like this, have no seen Eternals yet. Did see Shang-chi in the cinema twice and really liked that too.

So Eternals eh…

Today was Guardians of the Galaxy time. I think this is my third watch now.

The first time I watched it I thought very little of it,didn’t get the hype. Second time was right before I went to see vol 2 in the cinema and enjoyed it so much more and it really still is great.

This movie has a lot of heart, the characters are likelable, the humor is cool and it’s just thoroughly enjoyable. Don’t know what was the matter with me the first time I watched it, lol.

Really cool to watch all the MCU movies in chronological order. Captain America: The Winter Soldier is still great too.

Eternals is good. Shut up Prog.

Cleaning up the rooms in my house that had become a hoarders place full of all kinds of stuff, including a box of old comics of mine that I brought over from my mom’s house after she passed away in 2018.

This issue is from 1968. I wasn’t even born then, good lord. Now I’m not so sure it’s my comic, lol.
