I’m still surprised they are bringing the new Minecraft spin off game to PS. They just shouldn’t.
How’s the fans doing here?
Have they given up or still deep in the rabbit hole that this game would come to Xbox?
Nah, they said the same thing for NEO TWEWY and Balan Wonderworld.
Given up. It’s not happening.
Tbh persona was always my number 1 wanted. If that never came to xbox id have gone into a long depression. Thank god it has and i have no more requests…anything else is a bonus or just minor things. Ff7 was just a bonus and i already played that its not as good as people think. But i did want it because it was clearly labelled as a timed exclusive.
Im just laughing at the state of SE and their decisons especially on that crisis core remake.
But 7 remake is never coming to xbox anytime soon. It might come in 10 years when ms have taken over and force se to put all 3 parts on xbox super 2030
I obviously hope it still comes to Xbox but I am not gonna hold my breath.
Ultimately I wish Square Enix the worst and seeing the CCU on Steam is making me feel schadenfreude. Yes I’m that petty and idc.
I still believe it’s coming. Not sure why else Sony would’ve gone out of their way to remove it from the PlayStation exclusives section of their storefront (like Persona 5).
It’ll be fun when it gets announced, that’s for sure. Lol
Sony views PC releases as Multiplatform. So with the game coming to steam, epic etc. it would be multi-platform in sony’s eyes.
Seems like at this point either it can’t come to xbox until rebirth comes out or until all three parts are out.
Problem with scenario B is that MS is more interested in paying to put games on Gamepass, not to keep games off the competition. So outside of XGP deals or acquisitions, I don’t see MS putting money on any games to be exclusive.
I do agree with your earlier point though. If the situation was reversed and MS money hatted these games, I wouldn’t be mad, so it’s hard to be mad now. Best to just own multiple consoles if people don’t want to miss things IMO. Though I can understand why that’s not an ideal route for some as well. Thankfully there will be plenty to play for everyone, regardless of platform.
Edit:
Always find these takes interesting. What do we gain by fewer people being able to play a game?
Game Pass subscribers
PS only gamers also won’t be able to play Starfield, on their system that is. Its not that I’m like “no you can’t have this.” I am not that petty, well for the real silly, downright sad fanboys I will make an exception, haha.
But it’s a new game by a studio of theirs. At some point I expect all new games from any of these studios to be Game Pass only.
I think in MS’ view, paying $60+ for a game versus a GP sub is enough of an edge to win over subscribers. Personally if I had it my way, every game would be on every platform. Actually disappointed that Sony and Ninty never allowed GP on their platforms. Would have loved that.
Hmmm, I see. Not for me. I’m sorry but I can’t get myself to really want that, not when Sony is still on their shenanigans. We can only assume, but I doubt this nonsense with FF7R is not their doing for a big part.
But it’s been on Epic for 6 months now. Not sure they brought it down specially for Steam.
Moneyhats have been a thing in the industry for decades and every company from Ninty, Sony, and MS have done them plenty. So while I get the disappointment and frustration, I can’t get mad over it. It’s just business. An archaic business practice that I wish wasn’t still around but it is. If MS wasn’t so focused on GP and they had the funds they have now, they’d be doing the same and likely be more aggressive than Sony at that.
When the competition is actively keeping 3rd party games that are arguably from some of the largest franchises in the world to damage your platform, it doesn’t make much sense to in return offer up games that you outright own to their platform. You gotta use leverage on your competition sometimes to get them to act right. If I were in charge I would have pulled Minecraft the moment we bought Mojang until Sony started playing ball and stopped that BS. Then every publisher we bought afterwards it would have been a call to Sony saying what are you willing to give me to keep Doom, COD, HellBlade, or whatever??? We will take Horizon, Ghosts, God of War, and Uncharted, it’s been a pleasure doing business with you… I don’t understand why Xbox feels the need to keep playing nice with them, when Sony and all the PS fans, if they could somehow, would shut Xbox down today with no hesitation. I like your idea of a future with no more exclusive games, but it isn’t going to just happen unless you force the people who are working to shut you down to start playing that game. Unlike Staffy I am petty like that.
Problem with your scenario is that MS would burn any good will they had with gamers that weren’t entirely Xbox focused. The general consumer isn’t aware or familiar with these deals or why games are exclusive like we are. Also with how popular the PS4 was last gen and how often games were exclusive on that platform without a moneyhat, that obscures the public image even more since games being exclusive on a PS platform isn’t anything new. So the general consumer isn’t going to question those exclusives.
May not be fair, but it’s how the situation is now. IMO MS is doing this the right way.
Oh make no mistake, I 100% agree with you about the leverage. When the ABK news came I was really hoping that CoD would be used a leverage. Imagine us getting Spidey and CoD stays on there. Want Starfield? We get God of War. It would be awesome.
Ideally but never happening is that everyone gets to Game on their console of choice and have all the games. Xbox has all the Sony games, Sony has all the Xbox games, etc. I would be super down with that, would safe me from spending bucks on a oversized router, which I really kinda don’t want to, lol.
But eventually most of their new games are going to be Game Pass exclusive. New Arkane games, new ID, new Zenimax Online games, new games from Activision Blizzard. TES VI will be, Fallout and so on. So why the exception from them for Minecraft Legends? Because the first game is too? It isn’t that big of a deal though.
