Xbox should pair a visionary/concept studio like Mistwalker with someone like Toylogic Inc. to do the heavy work and make a new JRPG. Even if they don’t plan or want to buy a Japanese studio there are ways to make something even with 3rd party studios assuming they want to do it.
They did previously help start up Mistwalker and invested in them. So it’s a possible.
mistwalker has no interest in making AAA jrpgs.
The big budget JRPG (like Square) is basically just a cinematic action adventure game at this point. Don’t know that that’s worth chasing over the western equivalent.

They can partner with a studio I’m not saying that’s not possible of course. I thought you alluded to building a studio or acquiring one
All I know is that they can’t make one because they are a small studio, that’s why I said that they’ll need someone like Toylogic to make this happen. Also with the right offer/deal anything is possible.

Why are we putting SE on a pedastal here…this is the same company that put out ff15…ms dont need them. But having said that…fair play to se for taking so much moneyhat funds.

if they wanted to they could reach out to a number of publishers (including MS) the people at the top of that studio are extremely well connected and could get something going if they wanted to. 
So because they didn’t pitch anything AAA to MS (assuming you are right about this one) MS shouldn’t pursue a collaboration/partnership with them for a big project? 
Man F square. Xbox should just sign a deal with sega and get every persona game day one on xbox gamepass and show sony how to make deals that dont fuck over thousands of gamers.

No, just that they may lack interest in making that type of game. And I think MS should try to make deals with everyone.
I wish that I could put a spell on folks here to where they did not give a shit about Final Fantasy, it would transform the forum.

FF7 remake unfortunately is the best thing to come out of the franchise since 12 and its an exclusive ITs a very good game so an xbox port is overdue. For me personally…even if it came out…i wouldn’t bother playing it again as i played it on PS4 way back.
I get a lot of people are angry…I’m sort of not but baffled as to why SE are putting crisis core on xbox…
This weeks been hectic. At the end of the day…if you told me Persona was coming to Xbox but FF7 remake wasn’t…id’ have taken that all day every day.
Sony needs something though I guess. I mean Starfield is going to destroy both of those games anyway…lets be real. Sony had to fight to keep these games exclusive.

I don’t know, I would take a FF7, FF8, or Legend of Dragoon style JRPG turn based game over the entire Bethesda and Obsidian catalog personally. Never been a fan of western RPGs. Could just be the nostalgia though.
