I’ve had mine for two weeks now and I really like it. Having Xbox game pass on it natively really sealed the deal for me.

That reminds me. I need to stress test my card reader to see if it fails before my warranty runs out in the Fall.

It will. It will kill the card and kill the sd-card reader itself too, It’s a matter of when, not if.

Genuine question how does the ROG run Destiny 2?

Anyone try it ?

I play on my deck, when Witch Queen released it ran at 60fps fine but after lightfall I need to cap the fps at 30 as it’s so unstable now on deck.

Saw that earlier, great news… now I’m just here waiting for the Ally 2 to see if it has OLED. Still torn between this and the Deck.

I don’t use Armory Crate, so this doesn’t really impact me, but for those that do this may be welcome news:

I’m glad to see them invest time and money into the device though. It likely means they’re happy with how it’s performing sales-wise, which as someone who loves the product category I’m happy to hear.

Awesome I’ll check it out later!

I wonder what the difference will be, other than having a SD Slot that doesnt self-destruct and take out SD Media too.

No Strix Point no care

I wonder how powerful this new one will be

I think it will depend on the CPU situation, if they stay with the Z1 Extreme then probably quite limited?

The Z1 still seems quite new.

The live stream where the next Ally will be revealed starts at 2024-05-09T19:00:00Z.

NOTE: Before people get too excited, I’ve seen speculation that this might not be a full-blown “ROG Ally 2” and instead just a hardware refresh. That seems kind of likely to me, but it’ll be interesting to see all the same.

Whatever it ends up being, you can watch the live stream here on the official Asus channel:

Wait, I thought I read yesterday there wasn’t going to be an Ally 2 this year? Or is this just the refresh and people are hyping it up more than it should be?

Believe is just a refresh with the same SOC. Maybe resolving design issues with the SD card slot?

Probably no chance at proper eGPU support?

Yeah that’s definitely going to be fixed. I’ll probably jump in now lol

I will probably hold off for a next generation APU. AMD is supposed to be launching stuff in H2 2024. Dunno how long it’ll take for them to make it into handhelds though.
