But to turn off all achievements on easy mode, that’s excessive and just makes me want to ignore the game.

Weird point and click puzzle game, easy completion overall though nothing special in its own right

Completion #115: The Big Con

Really fun little adventure game, fun concept and humorous writing, give it a shot if you haven’t already since it’s in Game Pass!

Completion #116: Goat Simulator

Finally went back and compleated this game after all these years, boy was the process driving me crazy doing it, especially the Flappy Bird based achievement, that was torture

Completion #117: Doritos Crash Course

Another reach into the back log, honestly forgot how fun this game was! It’s still a blast even over a decade later!

Completion #118: SpongeBob’s Truth or Square

Honestly not bad, it’s not an amazing platforming game but it’s decent and a blast of nostalgia from classic spongbob episodes!

Completion #119: Chants of Sennaar

A nice indy adventure game with puzzle elements, I enjoyed the art style the most in this game

Completion #120: The Bard’s Tale ARPG

Was playing this legit a year ago but got distracted by other games, I could’t get back into the gameplay once I went back and decided to use console commands to see the story and get the completion

Completion #121: A World of Keflings

More backlog hunting, this game was way more fun then I remembered, really enjoyed my time getting the completion

I have decided to shift my strategy once again. I had created a calendar of games that I had already started to complete for the friendly completion percentage competition, but it didn’t work for the first couple weeks, obviously. So I have decided to throw that strategy out the window and just play the games I WANT to play, regardless of completion time or if they help me in the competition at all.

So I expect my weekly GS to decrease drastically. Maybe I will still do an easy completion each week just to have a decent baseline, we’ll see.

Completion #122: Doom + Doom II

This was a blast! Especially loved the remixed music, please go check it out if you’re on the fence about it, it’s worth it!

Completion #123: Ark Survival Evolved

After owning this since it’s preview period way back when I finally went back to complete it and it was a good time, who doesn’t enjoy messing around with dinosaurs

I was really looking forward to this game and it was right up my alley. I was a little nervous after finding a game-breaking bug less than an hour in that required me to restart, but after that it was mostly smooth sailing. A few performance issues when moving from area to area, and the camera always freaked out when in a small corridor, but overall I really enjoyed the game. I liked the graphical style, the “combat” was fairly unique, the way to tame the creates was fun, and at least some of the characters were pretty interesting (I loved listening to Nim’ar use the walkie talkie). While the writing wasn’t great, the story was still fun to go through and the world was interesting enough to keep me exploring.

My biggest complaint about the game is that you can’t go back to each area once you leave (100% makes sense in the story) so almost every achievement is missable. There’s also about a 10 second window to get a picture of a creature (that I never even knew we could see at that point, just hear) and if you miss that you can’t 100% the game, which was a bummer. I’m hoping they’ll add in a New Game+ so I can speedrun to that point and get the full 1000GS, but I still enjoyed my time with the game for sure.

I really enjoyed almost all of my time with this game. It took a bit longer to go through the main story than I’d have liked, but it’s a JRPG so that isn’t a huge shock. My issue is that once you beat the story there’s a lot left to do and it is a GRIND. I didn’t even get to the point that everyone says is really grindy so I can’t even imagine how painful that was. It was a solid 4/5, maybe 4.5/5 for me through the story, but trying to go through the rest of the game (which is apparently a decent amount of additional story) brought it down to a 3/5 for me.

I really wanted to love this game but outside of it being gorgeous and adorable it didn’t have a lot going for it. The combat was fairly bland and the story never really gave me a reason to care about any of the characters, both of which made it a bit of a slog to get through. I was originally planning on trying to get all of the achievements but after finishing it that sound like such a chore so I’m just marking it as done here.

Absolutely fantastic game. Loved the art style, the story was great (while being surprisingly dark), the characters were entertaining (with the exception of Niccolo and his daughters, because I will never not hate when cat characters “sneak” the word “mew” into their speech like we didn’t already know they’re a fucking cat), the combat was a lot of fun with the ability to tweak movesets a bunch if you want, and basically no grinding was required (even for the post-game content) which is usually a requirement in JRPGs. One of the best games I’ve played all year, and I highly recommend it to anyone that likes the genre.
