I thought this was hilarious to see happen.

The game looked the most accessible (broad genre, not social management game, not an rts tower defense, not a souls-like, not a time trial twitch game, etc) , interesting, and chill to everyone from the early trailers out of all the choices. I loaded into the game, messed around a bit, started following the story, messed around a bit more, then decided the game wasn’t providing the experience I thought it might. Well, more specifically it didn’t translate into something to keep my interest. Perhaps others had something similar happen?

In the end, Mort was right.

I understand this as a warning. Tchia - a game so bad you don’t want it on your permanent achievement record.

I thought Tchia was a nice “cozy game.” I enjoyed it. You guys are weird. :joy:

The only negatives were the collectathon achievements/trophies. But I got over that compulsion a couple of years ago anyway.

I wouldnt take it that far, but it wasn’t what I was looking for right now. Before I was thinking its control scheme might be more casual like The Touryst or Tunic. It also didnt feel as casual as Little Gator, and I still need to get back to that one.

I did move on to Immortals Fenyx Rising. That’s scratching the itch, for now.

We haven’t done a poll for August’s game yet, but the only new one that I know of is Creatures of Ava. Are there any others that should be included in a poll, or does Ava win by default?

We were waiting for today’s drop info, but yeah, Ava is still the only new game. Maybe we’ll just use last month’s games again. :smile:

I know Flintlock most likely not win so I’ll just say it again, please give it a shot. The game is great and for a souls-lite it’s honestly pretty easy overall so don’t be afraid because of the genre!

But if you do give it a shot, keep in mind that if you play on Story difficulty you won’t unlock any achievements because the developers are big jerks :slight_smile:

Yeah that is a thing, but even normal is very forgiving, especiall when you get a few upgrades

I would play it on normal anyway, but things like that rubs me the wrong way. Why have accessibility options but then go “hah, but no achievements for you!” ?

That’s what I’ve heard, but it feels like such a strange thing for them to do. Just make a “Completed the game on Normal difficulty or higher” achievement like every other game if you want people to be able to tell if others played on Story or not.

Exactly. Celeste and Another Crab’s Treasure did it perfectly in my mind: add accessibility options that make the game massively easy for those that want them, and don’t punish those people by disabling achievements. They don’t have any actual worth anyway, so why take them away from people?
