Anyone have advice for three broken achievements in THPS 1+2 on PC? Rookie, Veteran, and 10k spent are all at high percentage completed. I’ve tried twice now to reset my save and re-attempt the Rookie achievement, only for nothing to happen.

These are the last three I need in the game at this point. Just grinded out level 100 today for the 25th anniversary.

I’m normally not a huge fan of RTS games but this one really grabbed me (I’m sure the lower difficulty helped). Decent campaigns (1st and 3rd were much better than the 2nd, but only because I wanted the 2nd to be longer), fun gameplay, with varied gameplay depending on which culture you’re playing as, good graphics, and great controls for a console RTS. Definitely glad I watched my fiancee play this or I probably wouldn’t have given it a shot.

I will always love this game for starting one of my favorite franchises (and impacting the video game industry as a whole so much), but going back and playing this now is rough. Very minimal story, next to no indication of where you’re supposed to go after the first 30 minutes, and mediocre writing make it a bit of a slog. But they finally released on Xbox: what was I going to do, not play them all in order?

I didn’t expect to enjoy this enough to get the full 1000, but here we are. That’s not to say that I loved the game, but it’s a very competent Smash Bros clone, which I’ll always try. It’s a good game to play with friends if you just want some mindless fun, and since it’s on Game Pass the achievements can be used for the daily rewards :slight_smile:

Just know that the original FF on the NES had a mechanic where if you targeted an enemy and that enemy died, your characters would just attack air and miss instead of attacking the next available enemy. You had to really strategize who would attack who and hope that your characters wouldn’t miss or do less damage and screw everything up. :smile:

I played this game back in the day on the NES. It is the quintessential game for a young kid with nothing but time. The game pretty much expects you to just spend hours scouring the entire map looking for the next story beat. :rofl: Luckily I had the Nintendo Power strategy guide so I wasn’t totally lost.

Such a great QOL change in the newer versions. :rofl:

My brother and I rented it from our local grocery store that we probably could have each afforded our own copy by the time we were done with it. I regret nothing.

This game was absolutely fantastic. I loved all of the characters (well, loved to hate some, but they were all very well done), story was great, it’s gorgeous, the world felt real, and the music was banger after banger. Easily my favorite Life is Strange game since the original, and I might even like it more (very high praise, since the original is one of my favorite games ever). Anyone that likes the LiS/Telltale game style owes it to themselves to check out this game if you haven’t already.

It’s Doom and Doom 2. They’re great games, even if they don’t hold up super well anymore. I absolutely used the new (more easily accessible) cheats to burn through this quick for the full 1000GS :slight_smile:
