Achievement Hunting |OT| Every point counts

Borderlands was one of my favorite games of the PS3/360 era, but damn I don’t think I feel the same for the series anymore. I’ve played around 20 hours of Borderlands 3 and it has been so far “go from point A to point B, listen to a very long conversation without having anything more to do, go to point C, listen to more conversation, defend the area, go back to point A, more conversation”. It doesn’t help that I hate some of the characters aswell.

Yeah, that gameplay did not age gracefully at all. It was amazing for the time and I spent hundreds of hours on it myself, but right now its mission design, AI, gunplay, movement, progression is just outdated. I hope an eventual 4th game (well, 5th) actually evolves the formula a bit.

Agreed, the series fell off a cliff for me. I own physical sealed copies (I get them cheap or gifts) of Borderlands remastered, Borderlands The Handsome Collection, and the steel book edition of Borderlands 3 that comes with the DLCs, and I haven’t opened any of them. Too many other amazing games in my backlog and I’m burnt out the IP.

Got my 10k for the Hall of Fame. The hardest part was finding the right games out of the many I own and possibly had installed already haha.

Anyway, with the next-gen arriving next month I was thinking in a way to create a side competition to gather more points to our ranking. I thought about creating a poll in which we vote for a featured game of the month. Everyone who completes the game (or whoever gets the most gamerscore in said game) wins 100 points.

To give people more chance, I also though about some rules for the games eligible for the poll: 1. It must be a new release (to assure that no one started the game before the competition starts); 2. It must be on Game Pass (to assure that no one has to spend extra money to participate); 3. It must be optimized for the Series X|S (to narrow down options and stay on the “next-gen launch theme”).

What do you guys think?

Finally just got the “Completist” achievement in Dynasty Warriors 6 for getting every character to level 50. That was a grind. Now I just need to beat every stage/scenario on Chaos difficulty. Not looking forward to that.

Today I finished Sea of Solitude and Carrion. Both great games. Both took me around 4 hours. I’ll probably be doing the Carrion Win10 stack tomorrow.

I haven’t been hunting a lot since FIFA 21 launched. I turn on my Xbox, I think to myself “I got to at least finish Borderlands 3”, and the next thing I see I’m playing another online match in FIFA lol And for the first time in my life I hit division 2 on FUT!

I did play a bit more of The Touryst, though. I have only two achievements left, one of them being to 100% the game.

I’m also thinking about giving R6 Siege a try.
