I get this is a achievement thread but please for the love of god, don’t play these Lucas Arts adventures for the first time with a walkthrough. This hurts my soul

Hall of Remembrance level 3 just about made me give up on my 100% in DQ11. These 4 wee dickheads are OP to the max! Never been so frustrated with a mini boss in my life. Anyway, one more big boss fight and I’ll have my 1000G… Wish me luck.

Dragon Quest Builders 2 is so good i think I’ll go for the 1000G. I’m worried about this save glitch people are talking about though.

It’s not that bad since the game does autosave pretty frequently. The most time I think I lost was maybe 20 minutes worth of progress on the Isle of Awakening. Basically I was unlocking a ton of recipes (which takes entirely too long imo) and had to do it all over again.

It’s more annoying than anything else.

Meh, they’re not really my cup of tea, and Day of the Tentacle was bad; the overall concept/story was decent enough but the actual writing was fucking atrocious. Just started Full Throttle a few minutes ago (currently getting the “Do nothing for three minutes” achievement) so we’ll see if this one is any better.

I never ran into a save glitch in my 103 hours, but I did lose a bit of progress because when I was building the expanded throne room the first time something got messed up and no matter what I did it wouldn’t register the room as a room. In hindsight I probably just had it too big, but at the time I didn’t find anything about that in Google so I just loaded an older save and redid it.

I honestly just picked up multiple of them between both the A/B route playthrough. Also, you can get plenty of money through selling Wolf Hides and Teeth.

Don’t forget you’ll also be doing a lot of junk heap runs for upgrades (if you’re doing them) so you can always sell Broken Lenses, etc and buy most of them back later if needed.

Also, best way to make quick money is Recycled World, last stage. 50,000G each time.

I’m not going for 100% completion as I don’t have the time for that, but I definitely want to get all the endings and stuff, which is why I’m going for all weapons. But damn, I didn’t know the Recycled World gave that much money. Well, that’s what I’m gonna do. It unlocks after Ending A, correct?

Yep! All you’ll have to do is repeat the third door over and over. Its what people use to get to $1,000,000 usually.

And I don’t blame you about the completion, it can be a bit rough (especially with the RNG).

I will not. The writing was like something a middle schooler would have come up with. Like I said, I liked the general plot itself, but not the actual writing.

So far Full Throttle’s writing is definitely better, though I’m not too far into the game yet so there’s definitely room for change.

I did have a few crashes, thankfully I didn’t lose much progress. I did switch the VO because I didn’t like how it sounded in English.

Praise RNGesus! Third time lucky.

Probably the best JRPG I’ve played. No bullshit random encounters, excellent story & characters, superb soundtrack (even if it does get very repetitive) and a beautiful detailed world. I spent 140 hours in it and only got furstated with the Hoopthorne & Orgodelotl battle… Nightmare fuel! Even Timewyrm was easier than they two.

Protip - save every Elfin Elixi & Pep pop for the super boss Timewyrm.

Finished up Full Throttle. I liked the story more in Day of the Tentacle, but the writing was definitely better in Full Throttle. Not sure which I liked more.

Now onto Grim Fandango! Only need another 2,225 to get my 10k, which shouldn’t be a problem (likely going to do Tell Me Why and Walking Dead: The Final Season to finish it up).

Completion #8: Day of the Tentacle Remastered

Dragon Quest Builders has eaten all of my free time this month, the end of the month is fast approaching, and I’m no where near the 10K for the monthly challenge. Let my mad dash to 10K gamer score begin.

So here I am starting my rush to 10K with Day of the Tentacle Remastered. A Fun little point and click adventure for sure. Story was absurd but got some laughs out of me, the updated controls were nice and honestly for a point and click I had more fun then I thought I ever would. Fun game and a great quick 1K gamer score. I would recommend it to anyone looking for a quick 1K game and is looking for a laugh or two along the way.
