For me some of them are just for achievements. I noticed myself shifting towards wanting to play everything. The easy GS games get high on the list because they are cheap and short Also It’s gotten easier as I got older because I don’t have fear of missing out on the newest AAA releases.
Yeah I know what you mean. There’s the ACA Neo Geo games with Win 10 stacks, multiple 3K and 2k games now.I play alot of the super easy games so my card isn’t that impressive. That will probably change once I hit 1 million.
That’s an interesting point. Some days I think it wouldn’t be the worst thing if that kind of stratification came back.
On the other hand, who gets to decide which games are “real” games worthy of the full 1000? Costume Quest and Soul Calibur aren’t worth 1/5 as much as other games IMO, but they only get 200 points.
I wouldn’t want a system where Virginia and Gone Home aren’t classified as “real” games because you don’t shoot a gun in them.
Finally finished up Dragon Quest Builders 2, clocking in at 103 hours. Definitely could have done it quicker but I wasn’t super efficient at getting gratitude at the end to buy the rest of the recipes I needed. Fun game, but would have been fine if it had been done at around the 40 hour mark.
Now onto a bunch of quick stuff so I can get that 10k for the month.
It begins. I wish i got smart moves before they took out the F9 level skip. I know Bullet Beat still had a level skip, but that one is the best of the bunch and actually adds new content so can’t complain to much.
How not to do achievements. I expect JRPGs to copy what DQ11 did and put some thought into them. Make players work for them so explore every nook and cranny. Especially when you’re investing a 100+ hours into them.
Started and completed PoE2, Day of the Tentacle, Red Bow, Project Starship, Red Death, and Loot Hero DX. I don’t feel good about most (any?) of those, but I need that 10k this month so it’s fine.
Day of the Tentacle at least required some time (though I made sure to follow the TA walkthrough so I didn’t miss anything), but PoE2 was a mod, and the rest took a combined 3ish hours, so I won’t pretend to have any pride in those (though the SMUPs were harder than they should have been because I suck at that genre).
The deed is done. Did a speed run of the game in less than 7 hours and was able to get the last achievement.
NieR Automata is my favorite game of all time, so I had been debating for a while if I should attempt to complete this… well, now it’s my favorite series of all time in gaming.
I hope we get another console entry soon… or at the very least a new game from Yoko Atari (aside from the mobile NieR game).
I’ve been slowly playing Nier Replicant too, and enjoying my time more than the little I’ve played of Automata.
With that said, I’m constantly running to really far away places while constantly having the feeling of missing something
I’ve been playing Project Cars 3 for the last few days aswell. 30 hours in and I just got the last career-related achievement on the main game. I just have a couple of online achievements which are really simple, but involves 10 daily challenges – so the 1000g will still take a while.
While the main game is pretty easy, the DLCs are borderline impossible. You have to beat all the 48 challenges on each of the four DLCs campaigns, and while the races are simple because you can play on Easy, the Time Trials are pretty brutal!
