I’m at a little over 4K right now on the 10K punchcard. I’m going to try and get to at least 6 or 7 in the next week but I won’t stress if I don’t finish the full amount this time. It was just bad timing lining up with Mass Effect’s release.
At least you got the punchcard…
Completion #179: The Wild at Heart
- Estimated Difficulty: 3/10
- Estimated Time: 15 hours
I really loved this game. I didn’t want to stop playing at times, but I got stuck so. many. times! It’s so hard to play Xbox exclusives at launch because there are no guides anywhere to be found.
If a guide ever comes out, this completion can probably be done in under 10 hours.
Nice, I was hoping this one was going to be good. I’ve already got it on my list to play over the next month (going to be stuck at home after surgery so I’m going to try to get through a bunch of my backlog) so it’s good to hear a positive review of it!
I’m at 7k and I have ground to a halt. I think I will just take the next week as what comes as well. in the end its only another 3 Euro.
I’m still deep into Divinity: Original Sin 2… It’s a big, big game. Especially when like me, you do as much as possible. It’s a great RPG though, and hard as nails even on Classic difficulty. I have had single fights that, with reloads, lasted hours before I made it.
Completion #9: The Gardens Between
The next game on my 10K blitz, The Gardens Between. It was a fun little time based puzzle game with a rather somber ending I was not expecting to say the least. If you like puzzle games, and want one with a nice little story I’d recommend this 100%. The story is based around memories between childhood friends and how you’ll never forget the times you shared even if you are no longer together. It was a fun experience and the ending cutscene hits home, espically with the music that play during the credits.Loved this! My favourite “Game Pass gem”.
Finished up Grim Fandango this evening. The story and writing were far better than either Day of the Tentacle or Full Throttle, but the controls were far worse. Even ignoring the tank controls (which Tim is a jerk for making me use) I much preferred the point and click as opposed to making your character dry hump the object until he moved his head in the correct direction for you to interact with what you wanted to interact with.
For anyone that hasn’t played these games before and doesn’t really care about burning through a game for easy achievements (probably a pretty small overlap in this thread) I would recommend Grim Fandango without the tank controls, but I’d say skip Day of the Tentacle and Full Throttle.
Now I just need to decide what my 10th 1000 will be this month to push me over the 10k for that reward.
Game Pass Gem is the right term for sure, little hidden game I definitely would never have played if it was not on game pass. I really enjoyed it and hope more people give it a try!
Awesome little puzzle game. Was one of my first Game Pass completions and made me an instant fan of Game Pass.
Congrats on this! I was pretty proud of getting the 1000/1000 on this myself. I absolutely loved it, even when it felt a bit grindy near the end.
I had a tougher time with the last boss than the other two you did, but I guess that’s just how it goes sometimes.
Absolutely phenomenal game though. One of the best game pass has to offer for sure.
I’ve been concentrating on getting the 10000 gamer score for the Microsoft rewards challenge, so definitely banged out a few real easy ones like PoE 2 on Win 10 with mods and the like.
Like someone said, it’s just been bad timing with Mass Effect Legendary edition.
Completion #10: The Walking Dead: Michonne
Been sitting on this one for a while now and figured now was as good a time as any to finally play it. Not much to say on it really, if you’ve played any Telltale game before then you already know pretty much how it goes. I will say though I was not a fan of what I’ll call the “girls” bits as not to spoil anything. I totally get what they were going for, but it really took me out of the immersion of the game more often then not. Besides that though is was a decent, but very short, Telltale game and a good 1k for anyone looking for some quick gamer score.Completion #11: Dragon Quest Builders 2
Finally finished it and boy oh boy am I happy to finally be done. DQB2 was a fun game for the first 15-20 hours but it well overstayed it’s welcome. It would have been much more enjoyable if the game didn’t contently pull you out of actually playing to do a little cutscene or a animation. God I can’t stand the though of high fives now because of this game, every little accomplishment is intently followed up with a super drawn out jumping high five. It’s fun the first few times but not the 100th time. The story is alright, it’s not Shakespeare, but it’s decent enough and is mostly saved by the witty dialogue and I gotta give props to the localization team cause they did a damn good job all things considered. Though after a while I found myself mashing my way through most dialog soon after I got to the second island which I almost never do on a first playthrough of a game. overall the game is fun, when it actually lets you play and the story is decent enough, the biggest draw backs were the constant interruptions in game play and the overwhelming feeling that the game was being dragged out for much longer then it needed. The core gameplay is fun and the dialog got some laughs out of me, but I would be reluctant to recommend this to most people. If the concept of Dragon Quest meets Minecraft is something that intrigues you give the game a shot, but be prepared to run into all the shortfalls I’ve mentioned. If you can still enjoy your time with the game, great, but I can’t in good faith recommended DQB2 to everyone.Great points. I had been saying that 30-40 hours is where it outstayed its welcome for me, but either way it’s definitely too long. And yes, that stupid high five got old real quick (that, and Malroth and Lulu fighting over what to name my town).
I had fun with it, but I’m not sad that I’m done and it didn’t make want to buy Dragon Quest Builders 3 day one (assuming a third comes out), that’s for sure.
Completion #180: Project Cars 3
- Estimated Difficulty: 3/10
- Estimated Time: 40 hours
I’m still missing 4 achievements from the DLCs, which are really, really tough.
It’s such a shame that the first game’s completion is unobtainable
Im nearly 60 hours in and don’t feel the fatigue other people are talking about. I love this game and ill be sad when it’s finished.
Thoughts for the achievement game for June? I missed May
We’re still waiting to see what’s coming for June. I think the only game announced so far is Dungeons and Dragons: Dark Alliance which won’t be till the 22nd.
