It’s really difficult to make this top 5 since I left out some amazing games that I really loved like Gears 5, Super Mario Odyssey, Bayonetta 2, Luigi’s Mansion 3, DMC5, REmake 2/3, RE7, Donkey Kong Tropical Freeze, The Wonderful 101, Ori 1/2, ReCore, Cuphead, Inside, Forza Horizon 3/4, Killer Instinct, The Evil Within, Hollow Knight, God of War, The Last Guardian, Streets of Rage 4, Sunset Overdrive, Celeste, Pikmin 3, Titanfall 2, Deus Ex: Mankind Divided, The Wolfenstein games, Little Nightmares, Dark Souls 3, Bloodborne, Sekiro…e.t.c.
Overall software wise it was an awesome generation and the upgraded consoles proved that it was a great idea in the end since they helped a lot with sustaining the performance of the games at good levels. The only bad thing was that many of those titles that I enjoyed deserved a lot more love and sales by the gaming community.
