For those worried about the Series S, we learned the performance of another game on the console: Manifold Garden will run in 1440p resolution at 60fps.

Why would UE5 have issues? It’s built to scale directly with pixel counts.

It is 1080p/60. It just has another mode that boosts visuals a bit and that mode is 900p.

Prior to this news, ppl all over the internet were ‘concerned’ that a 1440p game on XSX would be 720p or lower on XSS and look horrible. The specs suggested this was not gonna happen since XSS can readily handle more than 1/4 the pixels the XSX pushes. But ppl were ‘concerned’ anyhow.

This news demonstrates that a 1440p XSX version actually scales down to 900p for XSS version, not 720p or lower. This is actually fantastic news.

Are you familiar with how this game performs? Its 1080/30 on XBX and it is only 1440/60 (or even 1080/60 in frame rate mode) on XSX. The XSS can’t be blamed for its performance here, its the game.

If the UE5 demo is running at 1440p 340fps on the PS5, wouldn’t be expecting much at all from the Series S. It’s just a cheap console for those that don’t care about resolution or frame rates, and IMO is a huge waste of money. Hope it doesn’t castrate the Series X in the long run

The UE5 demo is also not final code of their tech stack. Lets wait how real games perform with this on Series X and S.

Blame sega, its ran at 1080 30fps on the 1X. Taking this into account, 900p 60fps is a good result.

Was it not in the photo you shared of OPM UK ? They are also saying that it runs at 4K 30 FPS on PS4 Pro, which is not true, and a proof that it is just generic ‘output’ reference as John said.
