Yakuza / Like A Dragon |OT| That's Rad!

Yeah, the constant blocking is insane. Even with the move you obtain, you’ll have to kind of provoke enemies to attack you by throwing a jab, then hit RB+Y to counter.

It can be a bit tricky to nail, but once you do… it’s so satisfying to see their health bar quickly whittle away. The move looks cool in action as well

that fucking fat lieutenant/officer in the last mission :zipper_mouth_face:

People sharing their most infuriating Yakuza enemy/boss encounters better strap in for the Yakuza 4 final boss LOL. Make sure you have a bulletproof vest and are stocked up with health items.

The boxer dude in LAD who can knock you out with one punch once he puts on his knuckle dusters is my personal most hated Boss.

Didn’t have any problems with that boss whatsoever. I used the skill on Ichiban that lets him survive at 1HP but he never even went for Ichiban.

The hardest boss in all Yakuza games is the freaking car chase in Yakuza Kiwami 1 on legendary.

Goddamn Jingu from Yakuza Kiwami is also a good contender for the hardest boss. Those MIA soldiers, what the hell man. And of course, they revive!

Honestly the regular story bosses are nothing in comparison with this freaking car chase on legendary. Every boss fight you can cheese with those potion or get a boost from soda drinks. But this car chase is something else. 5 hits and you are down from pistol shots. In the end you face this truck which dmg you for more than halve of your hp if you don’t knock him back fast enough. Still have nightmares from it.

I’ve heard that on Legend difficulty, you have to redo the whole long battle and boss before the car chase, which… does not sound fun.

He knocked me out and ended my game 3 times before I realised there was a defensive move that would stop him.

Did you guys play like a dragon in dub or sub? I usually played these games in sub, but thought the dub for like a dragon was very good for the most part

Dub (although I don’t mind playing games with subs), I thought it was well-done. The VAs did a great job.

I play in sub. Playing Yakuza kinda helps scratch my pandemic travel itch since it reminds me of trips to Japan.

Oh so jealous, I always wanted to go. I was meant to for some pre production on a film ages ago but I never got my work permit and visa sorted in time so didnt go. I could have paid out of my own pocket but I figured “Oh I’ll manage when we’re in production” and it never happened :frowning:

Sub but i do want to do a playthrough in English at some point because from what I’ve heard the dub is really good.

Its my first time playing a Dubbed Japanese game and I am so surprised by the quality. Just all round great, not 100% perfect of course, but really had no complaints of any value.

[edit] sorry @BadNews missed your post, Yeah playing LAD Dubbed and its great for me.

I do enjoy hearing the English version Baka Mitai

You’re Killing it!!

I feel like Yakuza must be the most fun video game series for voice actors to work on bar games like GTA and Saints Row.
