Yeah going all out Ham, and “Brian Blesseding” out all over the place
I wouldn’t have Kiryu’s responses any other way lol.
I am spending too much time on the hostess mini game lol
I’m going to show those 5 millionaires how it goes
It’s the best part of the game to be fair. LOL!
game has sooo many hidden content hahah
You can lose hours just doing the mini games and side content. It’s so addicting.
Completed Yakuza Kiwami! Besides some of the fights which could be quite annoying at times, it’s a solid game. The combat’s not as balanced as 0’s, but it’s still good. The story’s great as usual for Yakuza.
Going straight into Yakuza Kiwami 2! This is the 4th game in the series for me (after Like a Dragon, 0, and Kiwami). It’s a bit weird getting adjusted to 30FPS again, but the graphical upgrade is worth it. Really liking the Dragon Engine combat so far. The physics are great, it’s fun sending people flying! Excited to play more.
Would make a perfect mobile game lol
And ruined it with mtx
Great game and the jump in graphics when going to kiwami 2 is massive. Kiwami 2 is a gem, i definitely liked it a lot more than Kiwami.
So I started Yakuza 3 last night, and aside from some weird frame issues (this is supposedly from something being installed during gameplay) I’m enjoying my time with it.
I definitely see why people are lukewarm on the beginning of it though. It’s very slow and cutscene focused. I think I’m about 2-3 hours in and have maybe been in 6 or 7 fights, 3 of which are boss battles.
Will be curious to see how this one ranks among the rest for me. Yakuza 0 still stands as my favorite.
I’m warming up to it as well, it’s definitely heartwarming and charming. The combat is also not as bad now, although the boss at the end of chapter 3 wasn’t so fun.
I do miss using waypoints on maps and eating to gain experience though. But then again I’m used to navigating Kamurocho.
It’s the most “Shenmue” like Yakuza imo. I really enjoyed the slower pace and spending time with the kids in the orphanage. The combat is the weakest in the series but it’s perfectly serviceable. Yakuza 3 is a good game and it feels important for Kiryus journey.
I definitely understand the Shenmue vibes and was almost wondering if it was because it was the first non-remade game out of the original series.
Really hope I continue to enjoy it, especially since Shenmue kinda bored me (I still need to finish 2).
Kiryu/Majima probably could carry me through 5 bad games though, ngl.
Even a “bad” Yakuza game is better than 95% of other video games. The characters are so endearing it’s what pushes me to play these games.
it dawned on me after i started Y4, Yakuza 3 it’s basically the Unplugged album of the series
note that i’m playing them in order
Dude, I’m loving Yakuza Kiwami 2 so much. The minigames are great as usual, primarily Cabaret Club and Clan Creator. The Dragon Engine’s combat is fun (especially the physics!). The story’s very interesting as well so far, as usual for the Yakuza series. I started playing yesterday and I’m already on Chapter 8 because I can’t stop playing. Definitely my new favorite in the series, even more so than Like a Dragon, which I adored.
Also, this game looks superb. Especially the cutscenes. Like, look at this:
Very unlikely for this to happen, but it would be absolutely amazing if this game got enhanced in any way for the Series S|X. Again, highly unlikely, but even it getting the FPS Boost treatment would be great.
Almost done 3 and its pretty fun, but it is kind of dated. However, I am really enjoying the story and can tell tis is an important story for Kiryu’s journey. From playing the first 2 games and 0 I felt that 0 really spoiled us getting to know Majima. For some reason I just like Majima a bit better than Kiryu tbh and his story in 0 was fantastic.
I hope I can beat 3-5 before 6 because I’ve heard 6 is very good.
