Yakuza / Like A Dragon |OT| That's Rad!

God I can’t WAIT for this game. Already got it preordered for Xbox. Hopefully I can beat Tales by then. If not its cool I’ll get it and wait. I’m not playing both at once. Need to finish Tales but Lost Judgement looks insane. Like the best Brawler combat of any RGG game so far.

I’m certain you can And thats what i’ll do. I don’t need to worry about DLC until its actually out. So pointless buying it now. I’m sticking with the Physical copy for this.

Probably gonna have to take a break in between Tales. As much as I love the game, Lost Judgment will have to take priority for me. I’ll return to Tales once I’m finished though. And yes, the combat is absolutely looking great. I already thought Judgment had the best RGG combat yet, and this looks even better.

Just noticed this but the UE unlocks on the 21st but if you buy it and change region to New Zealand you can start playing it from 5am Monday Morning. Literally hours before the Review embargo is up.

I’m still going to get the Physical. I can wait to play it as I should beat Tales by then. I hope.

Reviews are good. There’s some controversial material apparently. I think I got spoiled already, so beware…Downloading now.

(I’m at chap 11 of Judgment. It’s getting tedious, but I’m almost there. I may finish it this weekend.)

The reviews are sounding really amazing. The average might not be too high, but a LOT of reviews are 8.5 and higher. It’s just because some outliers are dragging it down, which will always happen with this kind of game. The consensus is that if you’re a Yakuza/Judgment fan, you’ll love this game. Seeing a lot of praise for the dark story and handling of themes, the combat, and the side activities. Though, the detective mechanics aren’t particularly innovative (which isn’t a big deal).

Some of the lower reviews are either just fucking stupid or they’re playing a game that would never even appeal to them in the first place. Like one review compares the game to Naughty Dog? Why?!? Another can’t even spell “Yagami” right, and I mean consistently. How do you even mess that up? Doesn’t help that many of these reviews are from the more mainstream reviewers, so it might turn people away.

Yeah, it touches on some sensitive topics so naturally there’s going to be some controversy. However the majority of the reviews agree that the game handles them well. Personally I applaud the bravery of the team for touching on these things, more media needs to.

I think issue with Yakuza/Judgment is there is a fatigue for these games, and I can see why reviewers don’t score that high. Anyways, I think solid scores all around and if fan of the series you’ll enjoy it

Yep, it’s a solid game like all the Yakuzas, but the recycled stuff is big, which is preventing higher overall scores than 8-8,5.

I mean like a dragon is the highest rated yakuza game if we exclude the Xbox yakuza 0 port. But that is a turn based RPG though.

Its getting good scores. First game was borderline 80.

I’m shocked they’re putting this on xbox one I guess it makes sense since there’s no PC version. Expected this to be ps4 ps5 and series consoles only.

I think those of us in the Yakuza thread know what we’re in for. It’ll be a better version of Judgment in most if not all respects, and that’s enough to get me pumped!

I think with the strides they made with gamepass and sales of yakuza 7 showed sega that Xbox is a viable platfrom for these games. Also I felt Microsoft did a solid job marketing Yakuza LAD

I’m talking about Xbox one. Not the series consoles. Judgement 1 skipped xbox. Probably due to extra work porting it

Well, that actually made sense. The remaster was made specifically for next-gen consoles, so they would have to port the original version for the One which would be additional work for them that they probably didn’t want to do. Considering Lost Judgment is made for both gens, I don’t see why they’d skip the One.

And with the new GDK, that means that they could also make a PC ver- wait no hang on…

Other reasons as to why it’s not on pc.

Finally made it to Yakuza 4, and can’t get passed the first character. He’s just … well not Kiryu. I’m thinking of giving it a rest and switch to “Like a Dragon” instead, as well that guy also seems sillier and more of a parody.

How soon does this improve in 4? As I know Kiryu is playable and other characters are also around, just need to get past the first guy. Unless the others are also… like this?
